|a إن السلطة من الظواهر الاجتماعية التي شغلت المفكرين، إذ تضاربت تعاريفهم لها، منهم من عرفها أنها أداة تضبط سلوك الأفراد والجماعات داخل نظام معين، وهناك من اعتبرها بينة تنظم العلاقات الإنسانية، كما يوجد من أضفى عليها صفة الرمزية وركز على سلطة الإعلام بصفتها سلطة رمزية. في حين أن ميشيل فوكو كانت لديه رؤية خاصة للسلطة، إذ اعتبرها استراتيجية معقدة مرتبطة بموازين القوى داخل المجتمع. والسلطة في رأيه تكتسب، تنتزع وغير قابلة للفقد، كما ربطها بالخطاب، باعتباره يحمل معرفة قصدية موجهة، تمارس السلطة على من يتلقاه، وتعيد تنميط فكر الأفراد وقناعاتهم.
|b Power is a social phenomenon that has preoccupied intellectuals by conflicting their definitions, including those who know it to be an instrument for regulating the behaviour of individuals and groups within a given system. There are those who consider it to be clear that it regulates human relations. While Michel Foucault had a special vision of power, he considered it a complex strategy linked to the balance of power within society. In his view, power is acquired, extracted and undisputable, as associated with discourse, as it carries targeted intentional knowledge, exercises power over those who receive it, and re-profiles individuals' thinking and convictions.
