|a الزمن عنصر مهم في الدراسات النقدية الحديثة، حيث انطلقت منه أبرز التقنيات السردية المتعددة، ونظرة الاهتمام بتقنية الزمن لا تأتي من كونه وقتا ماديا ملموسا، يمكن التحكم فيه، بل تأتي باعتباره "جزءا من فلسفة الذات الحيوية، لأن الزمن المعيشي لا يمكن الاستغناء عنه في فض مغاليق الشخصية، وكلما أمعن الكاتب في واقعه، كلما تكشف له جوانب فلسفة الزمن، ومن هنا يصبح الزمن ذا مغزى إيجابي أو دلالي في حياة الشخصية. والزمن الروائي في سياق المفهوم السابق لا غنى عنه داخل النسق السردي، فقد ينشأ عنه سحر، ينشأ عنه وجود ينشأ عنه جمالية سحرية، أو سحرية جمالية، فهو لحمة الحدث، وملح السرد، وصنو الحيز، وقوام الشخصية، فالسارد حين يسرد حكاية ما، عبر نص روائي ما، لا يستطيع الاجتزاء باصطناع زمن معين يتسم بالرتابة والوحدة بل تراه شاء أم أبى، يضطر إلى اصطناع كل الأزمنة الممكنة متفرقة متباعدة أو متزامنة متقاربة.
