المستخلص: When oil was discovered in the world, it became one of the most important sources of energy used, due to its characteristics that made it distinguished by its ability to compete with other energy sources. It became one of the most widely used energy resources in the world. As a result of the relative importance of oil, it became one of the most important resources that countries struggle to obtain in all ways. Therefore, the Groom Gulf region is one of the most vital and sensitive areas of science because of its economic and strategic importance. The economic importance is due in a large proportion to its large oil reserves and its high contribution to global production, which made the region occupy a prominent place In the conflict of interests of the conflicting capitalist countries, as well as directing their policies to ensure the preservation of the sustainability of Gulf oil supplies to them. As for the strategic importance of the Arab Gulf region, it is represented by the fact that the Gulf is close to the Soviet Union and the Indian Ocean, and this means that it is extremely important in international strategy, which means the necessity of the presence of the fleets of the two great countries (the United States of America and the Soviet Union) in the Indian Ocean region, France will necessarily feel Threats to its interests in the Arabian Gulf, particularly the oil ones. After the North African countries, especially Algeria, announced in 1971 that they secured oil, and the consequent decline in their revenues to France, from here France saw that the economic goals can only be achieved by increasing the orientation and presence in the Arab Gulf region, which has become thanks to its enormous oil wealth and location. The strategic is an influential element in the balance of political forces in the world, as the oil wealth it possesses is one of the most important components of its international power, which made it an entity that has international weight and influences the economic and political variables. Considering that the European economies, especially the French, have become more and more linked to the oil of the Arab Gulf after its emergence on the international stage since the beginning of the seventies, France's economic policy has become affected by the economic and political interactions that this region is exposed to. Accordingly, the issue of the impact of oil on France's economic policy towards the Arab Gulf region will be studied for the period 1973-1980 through the following topics: The first topic: France and the Arab decision to ban the oil in 1973. The second topic: the French orientation towards the oil of the Arab Gulf states. The third topic is the trade exchange between France and the Arab Gulf states. The fourth topic: Oil and the security of the Arab Gulf in the French strategy.
