المستخلص: لطالما شكلت الطبيعة المصدر الأول الذي منه استلهم المصممون، واستقوا حلولا لمشاكلهم التصميمية المتنوعة ومن يتفكر بالظواهر الكونية، كدوران الأرض حول نفسها وحركة الشمس المستمرة، وما يتبعهما من تعاقب لليل والنهار وتعاقب للفصول، سرعان ما يدرك ديناميكية الحياة، وتطورها وعدم ثباتها على رؤية واحدة. فالديناميكية صفة وصمت حياة الإنسان منذ القدم وما تزال ترتبط بواقعنا المعاش. من هنا ظهرت اتجاهات «العمارة الديناميكية «التي هدفت إلى مواكبة احتياجات الإنسان المتبدلة والمتغيرة، وتقديم حلول للمشاكل المستجدة والخروج من الأشكال الثابتة إلى المتحركة. والأثاث من العناصر المتممة للعمارة والملازمة لها، إذ إنه يعتمد في تصميمه على وظيفته وعلى الفراغ الذي سيوضع فيه ومع تغير مفاهيم التصميم الداخلي، تطور مفهوم الأثاث واتجهت التصاميم من الإستاتيكية إلى الديناميكية، فظهرت فكرة الأثاث المتعدد الوظائف أو الأثاث الذكي، التي قامت في الأساس على مبدأ توفير المساحات، لا سيما في ظل تراجع مساحات الشقق السكنية في الوقت الراهن، وجعله أكثر عملية من دون تكديس لمجموعة كبيرة من القطع التي لا تخدم نمط الحياة المعاصر، فركزت على تعدد الوظائف لقطعة الأثاث الواحدة في سبيل تلبية الاحتياجات المستقبلية للمستخدمين ثم تطورت أساليب تشغيل قطع الأثاث بفعل تطبيقات التكنولوجيا الحديثة، فتطورت أشكال الأثاث الحديث من الأثاث الرقمي إلى الأثاث التفاعلي، وأيضا الأثاث التطوري، وقد بات المصممون يتعاملون مع قطع الأثاث على أنها تراكيب ميكانيكية وهندسية مزودة بتقنيات عالية، ويقومون بإدخال تعديلات وتغييرات شكلية على الأثاث باستخدام خامات وأدوات بسيطة تخلق نوعا من التجديد وبعيدة من الطابع الشخصي ومن هنا نشأت مشكلة البحث في محاولة للرد على التساؤلات الآتية هل يتناسب الأثاث الثابت التقليدي مع نمط الحياة المعاصر؟ أم أن هناك حاجة لأثاث ديناميكي يتماشى مع متطلبات الإنسان المتغيرة؟ وهل يمثل الأثاث الذكي حلا عمليا لمشكلة تضاؤل مساحات الشقق السكنية؟ وفي سبيل الإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة يتبع البحث نهجا وصفيا تحليليا إذ يعمد إلى وصف وتحليل نماذج لقطع أثاث متعدد الوظائف وأثاث ذكي، ليخلص إلى ضرورة توظيف التقنيات الحديثة في مواجهة المتغيرات المعاصرة، وتأمين الاحتياجات المختلفة لأصحاب الوحدات السكنية ذات المساحة المحدودة.

Nature has always been the primary source from which designers drew inspiration and solutions to their various design problems. Whoever contemplates cosmic phenomena, such as the rotation of the earth around itself and the continuous movement of the sun, the succession of day and night and the succession of seasons, will soon realize the dynamics of life, its constant evolution and the lack of stability on a single vision. Dynamism is a characteristic of human life since ancient times, and is still linked to our lived reality. From here, the trends of “dynamic architecture” emerged, which aimed to keep pace with the changing needs of humans, and to provide solutions to emerging problems by getting out of fixed forms to dynamic ones. Furniture is one of the complementary and inherent elements of architecture, as it depends in its design on its function and the space in which it will be placed. With the change in the concepts of interior design, the concept of furniture evolved and the designs turned from static to dynamic, so the idea of multifunctional furniture or smart furniture emerged, which was based primarily on the principle of saving spaces, especially due to the limited areas of residential apartments at the present time, and making it more practical without accumulating a large group of pieces that do not serve the contemporary lifestyle, thus focusing on the multi-functionality of one piece of furniture in order to meet the future needs of users. Then the methods of operating pieces of furniture developed due to the applications of modern technology, so modern forms of furniture developed from digital furniture to interactive furniture and also evolutionary furniture, where designers are dealing with furniture pieces as mechanical and engineering structures equipped with high technologies, so they made modifications to the furniture using new raw materials and tools to create a kind of novelty and depersonalization. Hence, the research problem arose in an attempt to answer the following questions - Is the traditional fixed furniture compatible with the contemporary lifestyle? Or is there a need for dynamic furniture in line with changing human requirements? Is smart furniture a practical solution to the problem of dwindling residential apartments? In order to answer the questions of the study, the research follows a descriptive and analytical approach, as it describes models of multifunctional and smart furniture, to conclude the necessity of employing modern technologies in the face of contemporary changes and securing the different needs of the owners of housing units with limited space.
