المستخلص: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على علاقة وسائل الضبط الاجتماعي بالسلوك الجرمي من وجهة نظر طلبة الدراسات العليا في جامعة مؤتة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، استخدمت الاستبانة أداة رئيسة لجمع البيانات الميدانية من عينة الدراسة البالغ عددها (482) طالبا وطالبة، من خلال استخدام منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من (2724) طالبا وطالبة، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن هناك علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين وسائل الضبط الاجتماعي والسلوك الجرمي، وكانت النتائج تفوق وسائل الضبط الرسمي على وسائل الضبط غير الرسمي في الحد من السلوك الإجرامي في المجتمع الأردني، فقد حققت وسائل الضبط الاجتماعي الرسمي الترتيب الأول من حيث الأهمية النسبية بمتوسط حسابي (3.91)، وبمستوى مرتفع، بينما حققت وسائل الضبط الاجتماعي غير الرسمي الترتيب الثاني بمتوسط (3.64) وبمستوى متوسط، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين وجهات نظر عينة الدراسة من طلبة الدراسات العليا، ودور وسائل الضبط الاجتماعي الرسمي وغير الرسمي في الحد من السلوك الجرمي في المجتمع الأردني باختلاف متغير الجنس، وجاءت لصالح الذكور على الإناث، وأظهرت النتائج، كذلك عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية باختلاف متغيري الكلية وطبيعة العمل.

This study aimed at identifying the relationship between the methods of social control and criminal behavior from the perspective of postgraduate students at Mu'tah University. In order to achieve the study objective, the researcher used the questionnaire as the study instrument to collect field data from the study sample which consisted of (482) male and female students by means of social survey approach by sample. The study population consisted of (2724) male and female students. The results revealed that there is a statistically significant relationship between the methods of social control and criminal behavior. The results showed a superiority for the methods of official control over the methods of nonofficial control in reducing the criminal behavior in the Jordanian community, where the methods of official control gained the first rank in terms of relative importance with a mean of (3.91) and a high level, while the methods of non-official social control were in the second place with a mean of (3.64) and a medium level. The results revealed that there are statistically significant differences between the perspectives of the study sample individuals concerning the role of the methods of official control and the methods of non-official control in reducing the criminal behavior in the Jordanian community due to the variable of gender in favor of the male students. The results revealed that there are no statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of faculty and work type.
