فهذا بحث بعنوان: (قراءات معاصرة لمصطلح الجاهلية- عرض ونقد)، ويهدف إلى جمع ما تفرق من قراءات معاصرة حول هذا المصلح المهم، وبيان ما ورد في ذلك من انحرافات ومغالطات، وتقوم ذلك في ضوء عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة، وذكرت فيه أهمية دراسة المصطلحات الشرعية. وتعريف الجاهلية في لغة العرب، وورودها في القرآن الكريم وفي السنة النبوية، وبينت كلام أهل العلم في مصنفات العقيدة حول مصطلح الجاهلية وأنواعها وتفريعاها، وأوردت ما ذكره الإمام المجدد محمد بن عبد الوهاب حول هذا المفهوم، ورددت على شبهة المخالفين له في اتهامه بالقول بالجاهلية المطلقة، وذكرت ما وقفت عليه من انحراف بعض الجماعات الغالية حول هذا المفهوم، وقوهم بالجاهلية المطلقة على المجتمعات الإسلامية. وبينت انحراف تيار اليسار الإسلامي ومن تبعهم من الكتاب حول هذا المفهوم، وأخيرا ذكرت موقف المستشرقين من هذا المفهوم، وبيان حقدهم على الإسلام من خلال كتاب (دائرة المعارف الإسلامية). وختمت البحث بذكر بعض النتائج المهمة.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. The good ending will come to the righteous, and there is no aggression except against the oppressors. May Allah exalt and send peace to the Messenger of Allah, his family and companions. To proceed: this paper is entitled: "Contemporary Readings of the Term Jahiliyya – A Presentation and Critique". It aims to collect different contemporary readings about this important terminology, and explain the deviations and fallacies therein, and to correct this in light of the creed of the Ahl us-Sunnah wal- Jama'ah. I mentioned in the paper the importance of studying Islamic terminologies, the definition of Jahiliyyah in the Arabic language, and its occurrence in the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. I explained what the scholars mentioned in the books of creed about the term Jahiliyyah, its categories and types. I cited what the imam and reformer Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab mentioned about this concept and I refuted the antagonists’ doubts whom accused him of holding the opinion of absolute Jahiliyyah. I mentioned the deviation of some extreme groups about this concept and that they believe that the Muslim communities fell into absolute Jahiliyyah. I explained the deviation of the Islamic left movement and the writers who followed them regarding this concept. In the end, I mentioned the position of the orientalists regarding this concept and their hatred against Islam though the book Encyclopedia of Islam. I ended the research by mentioning some important results. I Ask Allah for success and rightness. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May Allah exalt and send peace to our prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions.
