|a ظل البحث عن تعريف للقصة القصيرة شاغلا لنقاد هذا الفن على امتداد تاريخه، منذ النشأة وحتى وقت قريب، سواء في الآداب الغربية أو في الأدب العربي على السواء. وتباينت جهود النقاد ودارسي الأدب في هذا الإطار في سبيل وضع تعريف للقصة القصيرة، بل تعريفات؛ تعددت بتعدد النقاد أو المدارس النقدية، فأصبحنا بإزاء تعريفات وليس تعريفا واحدا. تنوعت تلك التعريفات من تعريفات حسابية استندت إلى عدد الكلمات في النص القصصي، إلى تعريفات تتعلق بفنية التعبير داخل القصة من لغة إلى شخصيات إلى حبكة إلى أسلوب...، إلى تعريفات تتعلق بتمييز القصة عن فنون أخرى كالرواية والمسرحية والصورة القصصية. قدمت الدراسة عرضا وقراءة ونقدا لنماذج من هذه التعريفات، كمدخل نظري. ثم قدمت الدراسة قراءة نقدية تطبيقية للمجموعة القصصية "أرض القطنة" للقاص حسن الجزار كنموذج لقصص انطوت- في قراءتها- على تطبيق لبعض هذه التعريفات السالفة في النقد الغربي والعربي. وهو نموذج تطبيقي يساعد على نحو أكبر على فهم هذه التعريفات في ضوء نص قصصي.
|b The search for a definition of the short story has been a concern of critics of this art throughout its history, from its inception until recently, whether in Western literature or in Arabic literature alike. The efforts of critics and literary scholars have varied in this regard to develop a definition of the short story, but rather definitions. There were many critics or schools of criticism, so we are facing definitions, not one definition. These definitions varied from mathematical definitions based on the number of words in the narrative text, to definitions related to the artistic of expression within the story, from language to characters to plot to style ..., to definitions related to distinguishing the story from other arts such as novel, drama, and portrayal. As a theoretical input, this study introduces, reads and criticizes examples of these definitions. Then, it presents an applied critical reading of the anthology: "The Land of the Qutna" by the narrator: Hassan Al-Jazzar, as a model for stories that - in their reading - involved the application of some of these previous definitions in Western and Arab criticism. It is an applied model that helps more in understanding these definitions in light of a narrative text.
