تناقش هذه الدراسة أبرز الآراء التي بلورت مصطلح المسرح الشعبي، وحاولت تأطيره ووضع حدود واضحة المعالم له، واضعين نصب أعيننا ملامح العرض المسرحي الشعبي ورؤى واتجاهات وجهود علمية سعت إلى تحديد مفهوم ودلالة وأهداف عروضنا المسرحية الشعبية وأشكالها الفنية، تلك التي منحتها خصوصية فنية نابعة ومعبرة ودالة على ثقافة أمتنا العربية. وينطلق الباحث في تتبعه ومناقشته لمصطلح العرض المسرحي الشعبي ودلالته، من مقدمة منطقية مؤداها أن إضافة لفظ ”شعبي“ لـ”العرض المسرحي“ يجب أن تؤكد على، وتشير إلى، نوع آخر من جنس العروض المسرحية، يختلف في سماته وخصائصه، ويميزه عن مثيله غير الشعبي، وإلا فلا داعي لإلصاق تلك اللفظة التي منحته خصوصيته، وتنتهي الدراسة إلى طرح تعريف دال للعرض المسرحي الشعبي.
This study discusses the most prominent opinions that crystallized the term popular theater, aims to frame it and sets clear boundaries for it, bearing in mind the features of the popular theatrical show, visions, trends and scientific efforts that sought to define the concept, significance and objectives of our popular theatrical performances and their artistic forms, which gave them, expressive and significant artistic specificity in the culture of our Arab nation. In tracing and discussing the term popular theatrical performance and its significance, the study starts from a logical introduction to the effect that adding the term “popular” to “theatrical performance” must emphasize, and refer to, another type of theatrical performance, which differs in its features and characteristics, and distinguishes it from its unparalleled counterpart, and the study ends with putting forward a significant definition of the popular theatrical performance.
