تشكل المعطيات الطبيعية والبشرية المحدد الأساسي في توجيه توسع مدينة زاكورة؛ إذ أن المدينة تتوفر على مؤهلات طبيعية وبشرية، من شأنها أن تحرك عجلة التنمية المحلية بالمنطقة، إذا توفرت السبل الكفيلة لذلك. كما أن المدينة تواجه مجموعة من التحديات سواء تعلق الأمر بالمجال الطبيعي المتمثل في قساوة الظروف المناخية، وضعف الموارد المائية، أما من حيث الخصائص البشرية، فالمدينة شهدت نموا ديمغرافيا سريعا، نتيجة الزيادة الطبيعية، وكذا هجرة سكان بعض المناطق الواحية إلى المدينة. أما على مستوى مشاكل توسع المدينة، فالعمل الميداني أبان عن عدة مشاكل ارتبطت بتوسع المدينة كالازدواجية في السكن، والفقر والهشاشة، وكذا الوضعية المهترئة للبنية التحتية، بالإضافة إلى توسع المدينة على حساب المجال الأخضر المتمثل في الواحة. من حيث الخصائص الاجتماعية، فالملاحظ أن المدينة تزخر بأنواع بشرية متنوعة (العرب، والأمازيغ، والحراطين...)، وغلبة الأسر المتوسطة الحجم، مع هرم سكاني ذو قاعدة فتية، أما فيما يتعلق بالوضعية المهنية للسكان، فالساكنة اتجهت نحو الأنشطة غير الفلاحية، مع حضور للفلاحة يظهر طبيعة المدينة الواحي، وبالتالي تعد مدينة زاكورة مدينة طاردة، بكل ما تحمل الكلمة من دلالة، وهذا يبرز أن المدينة تعيش أزمة حضرية بامتياز، مما يستوجب اعتماد تخطيط حضري فعال وناجع لهذه المدينة التي تتخذ شكلا خطيا، يجعلها تلحق بركب المدن الوظيفية، حتى تعم ساكنتها باستقرار مهني ووضع اجتماعي جيد.

In terms of social characteristics, the city is abundant with diverse human species (Arabs, Amazigh, Haratin...), the predominance of medium-sized families, with a young-based population pyramid as for the occupational status of the population, the population has moved towards non-peasant activities. With the presence of peasant shows the nature of the suburban city, hence the city of Zagoura is a city of Chad with all the meaning of the word, this highlights the fact that the city is living through an urban crisis with distinction. which requires the adoption of effective and efficient urban planning for this city in written form, it makes them catch up with functional cities, so that their residents can have professional stability and a good social situation.
