|b This study explores the frameworks behind the French media's coverage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, by identifying the topics that newspapers focused on, the nature of these topics, and identifying the motives and backgrounds that produced these media discourses towards the State of Qatar and its preparations for the FIFA World Cup; for this purpose, we relied on a qualitative content analysis approach of the French newspapers under study. One of the most important conclusions of the study: There is a propaganda campaign in order to make a negative image of the State of Qatar and the global football event that it will host. Among the backgrounds of this campaign is the central tendency of the European elites who refined their view about the other adopting an arrogant attitude.
