This article examines the critical tendency of Ibn Rushd through inspecting some issues that seized the focus and attention of philosophers and scholars of theology in the middle Ages, such as the theology field and the naturalities field. In the field of theology, the article deals with the antiquity of the world, a topic of much dispute, as Al-Ghazali declared that philosophers are infidels, pushing Ibn Rushd to respond back. Then came the issue of the miracle, which Ibn Rushd took a rather different approach from other previous theologians and philosophers. In the field of natural sciences, the article dealt with causation, a topic which al-Ghazali was considered to be a pioneer, while Ibn Rushd responded by defending causation and the necessary interdependence between phenomena.
