This Paper is focused on the role of tourism diversification in South Sudan and examines empirical factors that affect the sector. Since its independence on 9 July 2011, South Sudan depends on oil revenues as a key resource. The country paid little attention to diversify its economy. Despite the availability of agricultural and tourism resources in South Sudan, its trade balance, still, depends on oil revenues as a key resource. The oil supplying countries have been subjected to many crises in the previous periods, which have led to low prices and instability, hence the decline in the revenues from it and deficit in the national budget of the country. Therefore, we need to consider diversifying its investment package and not, solely, rely on oil resources to meet the requirements of its overall economic development. Unfortunately, the country does not pay attention to improving security to attract tourists in the country. Tourism industry has potential for country economic growth rates and possible competition. Investment in physical capital, such as improving transport, infrastructure, and building hotel is matching to investment in tourism industries.
