|a أن تزايد أعداد السكان المستمر وحاجتهم المستمرة للمواد الغذائية جعل معها الحاجة الملحة لتحسين وتنمية المحاصيل الزراعية عموما فنالت المحاصيل البقولية نصيبا من الاهتمام بما لا يقل شأنا عن المحاصيل الحبوب الأساسية وما تمخض عن هذا الاهتمام هو الانتشار الكبير لزراعة المحاصيل البقولية في أغلب دول العالم ولا سيما العراق على وجه الخصوص حتى ضمنت لنفسها مكانة دائمة في التركيب المحصولي للخطط الزراعية الموسمية إذ تحتوي حبوبها على نسبة عالية من البروتين النباتي ذي القيمة الغذائية العالية والمصدر الوحيد له فضلا عن الزيوت والكربوهيدرات والفيتامينات مما زاد من استخداماتها كغذاء.

Its grains contain a high percentage of vegetable protein of high nutritional value and the only source of it, As well as oils, carbohydrates and vitamins Which increased its uses as a major human food and important animal feed Not to mention its great ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen through bacterial nodes in its roots Which gave it great importance within the regular agricultural cycles to reduce the use of industrial nitrogen fertilizers that are costly to improve soil properties, Therefore, the research sought here to study the natural geographical factors.
