المستخلص: يتلخص هذا البحث في دراسة حدث بارز في السنة والسيرة النبوية، وهو: وفاة الصحابي الجليل عثمان بن مظعون رضي الله عنه وأرضاه، دراسة حديثية على قواعد علم الحديث الشريف، اتبعت فيها المنهج الاستقرائي بجمع الروايات من كتب السنة والسيرة النبوية التي وقفت عليها، والتحليلي بتطبيق قواعد علم الحديث الشريف في دراسة الروايات، وأيضا بتصنيف المرويات إلى: تمهيد يتضمن ترجمة موجزة لعثمان بن مظعون، وأربعة مباحث تتضمن أغلب تفاصيل الوفاة؛ من الاحتضار، والصلاة على عثمان بن مظعون، والدفن في القبر، وما تبع ذلك من الثناء على عثمان بن مظعون واشتهار وفاته وقبره لدى المسلمين مع تتابع العصور، كل ذلك للوصول إلى أهداف البحث: وهي المعرفة التفصيلية لأحداث وفاة الصحابي الجليل عثمان ابن مظعون رضي الله عنه، مع تمييز ما صح من الروايات في هذا الموضوع مما لم يصح، وقد أثمر هذا البحث نتائج كثيرة غير ما سبق، منها: إبراز مكانة الصحابي الجليل عثمان بن مظعون رضي الله عنه، وبيان خلق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالعناية بأصحابه في مختلف أحوالهم، كما أثمر توصيات؛ بالعناية بالسنة والسيرة النبوية، وإبراز الشخصيات المؤثرة فيها، ودراسة الروايات التي تدور حول هذه الشخصيات.

This research can be abridged into the studying of an outstanding occurrence in the Sunnah and History of Prophet Muhammad ((peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)); and that is the death of a prominent companion, ‘Uthmān bn Maẓ‘ūn- may Almighty Allah be pleased with him. It is a Hadīth-related study on the Science of the noble Hadith. In this research, I applied the inductive method by collecting narrations from the Sunnah and History Books that I found; and I also used the analytical method by applying the principles of the Science of the noble Hadīth in the studying of the narrations, and also by categorizing the narratives into: "The prelude, which contains a concise biography of ‘Uthmān bn Maẓ‘ūn, and four themes consisting the most important details of his demise; right from the death throes, and the funeral prayer observed on him, the burying in the grave, and what followed that such as encomiums on ‘Uthmān bn Maẓ‘ūn and the popularity of his death and grave among the Muslims with the sequence of seasons. All those things were done purposefully to achieve the research objectives: which is "A well Detailed Understanding of the Scenarios of the Death of the Great Companion, ‘Uthmān bn Maẓ‘ūn- may Allah be pleased with him -, plus distinguishing between the authentic narratives and the untrue one". The thesis has yielded various results that are different from the aforementioned ones such as: Highlighting the status of the notable companion, ‘Uthmān bn Maẓ‘ūn, and explaining the character of Prophet Muhammad ((peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)) which reflects in his caring for the companions in various situations. It also yielded some recommendations such as the need to pay attention to the lifestyle and the History of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him), accentuating the prominent and active personalities in his history, and the studying of the narrations concerning these figures.
