المستخلص: من أشهر قواعد العمل الصحفي أن "الخبر مقدس والمقال حر" فالمقال فن يتميز عن غيره من الفنون الصحفية، لأن العنصر الشخصي ركنا أساسيا من أركانه، ويختلف المقال عن باقي الفنون الصحفية من حيث أنه تعبير ذاتي وشخصي عن الأفكار والخبرات والاتجاهات، حتى لو كان هذا التعبير معارضا في مضمونه لأفكار وخبرات واتجاهات أخرى. ورغم أن بداية الصحافة في العالم كانت صحافة مقال ثم تحولت إلى صحافة خبر إلا أن المقال لم يفقد أهميته وحيويته، بل يعتبر مؤشرا من مؤشرات الديمقراطية والحريات التي يتمتع بها بلد دون الآخر، لما يتناوله من هجوم على مظاهر الفساد في المجتمع أيا كان مصدرها، كما يدل المقال على نضوج المجتمع واتجاهات الرأي العام فيه. وللمقال الصحفي أنواع مختلفة أخذت تتطور حتى صار كل منها يشكل فنا صحفيا قائما بذاته، ويختلف المقال الصحفي عن المقال الأدبي الذي يعرض تجربة الكاتب الذاتية وعواطفه ومشاعره، وعن المقال العلمي الذي يعتمد أساسا على الحقائق والنظريات العلمية، فهو وسط بين الاثنين لأن فيه شيئ من ذاتية الكاتب الأدبي وموضوعية العالم. والمقال الافتتاحي يقوم على أساس شرح وتفسير الأخبار والأحداث اليومية والتعليق عليها بما يكشف عن سياسة الصحيفة تجاه هذه الأحداث والقضايا المجتمعية أو الدولية، والمقال الافتتاحي يربط القراء بالصحيفة من ناحية، وبالأحداث اليومية الجارية من ناحية أخرى، وحيث أنه يعبر تماما عن سياسة الصحيفة فإن مهمة كتابته تستند إلى رئيس التحرير أو كبار الكتاب في الصحيفة والمؤسسة، وهو لا يوقع باسم كاتبه لأنه يمثل رأي المؤسسة لا رأي الشخص. وتهدف الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مضامين المقال الافتتاحي في الجريدة اليومية (نوائے وقت) في العينة محل الدراسة، ورصد أهم أنواعه، ونطاقه الجغرافي، وأهدافه، واتجاهاته، ووسائل الإقناع المتبعة فيه.

One of the most famous rules of journalistic work is that “the news is sacred and the article is free.” The article is an art that is distinguished from other journalistic arts, because the personal element is an essential pillar of it. Expression opposed in its content to other ideas, experiences and trends. Although the beginning of journalism in the world was article journalism and then it turned into news journalism, the article did not lose its importance and vitality. Rather, it is considered an indicator of democracy and freedoms that one country enjoys over the other, because it deals with an attack on manifestations of corruption in society, whatever its source. The article indicates the maturity of society and the trends of public opinion in it. The journalistic article has different types that began to develop until each of them became a stand-alone journalistic art, and the journalistic article differs from the literary article that presents the writer’s personal experience, emotions and feelings, and from the scientific article that relies mainly on scientific facts and theories, as it is a medium between the two because it has something of subjectivity Literary writer and world objectivity. The editorial article is based on explaining and interpreting daily news and events and commenting on them in a way that reveals the newspaper's policy towards these events and societal or international issues. The editorial article connects readers to the newspaper on the one hand, and current daily events on the other hand. It is based on the editor-in-chief or senior writers in the newspaper and the institution, and he is not signed with the name of his author because it represents the opinion of the institution and not the opinion of the person. The study aims to reveal the contents of the editorial article in the daily newspaper (Nawaiw waqt) in the sample under study, and to monitor its most important types, its geographical scope, its objectives, its trends, and the means of persuasion used in it.
