The study aims at exploring the level of resilience and psychological security and investigating the relationship between resilience and psychological security. It also investigates the differences in the dimensions of resilience and the dimensions of psychological security. The Sample of the study consists of 502 elementary and secondary school students. Both Resilience Scale and Psychological Security Scale were used. The findings revealed high level of resilience and average level of psychological security among the sample. The findings also showed a positive relationship between resilience and psychological security except for the dimensions of commitment, balance, and mood. Also, there was no relationship between the dimensions of self-confidence, self-formation and future vision, and mood. The findings also showed no differences in the resilience 's dimension between males and females, but there were differences in the dimensions of commitment, balance, and sense of meaning in favor of elementary school students. Also, there were differences in the dimension of general and practical life in favor of males, and no differences in self-formation, future vision, mood and social life between males and females, and no differences in the psychological security's dimensions between secondary and elementary school students. The research is entitled: 'Alvin Goldman's Social Epistemology and Philosophy of Action: An Analytic Study in Applied Epistemology '. It is divided into the following topics: an introduction, the definition of social epistemology and its types: social interpersonal epistemology, epistemology of groups, epistemology of institutions. As well as the related relationship between social and applied epistemology, epistemic justification of the beliefs of the individual, the group and the social institution, and its relation to truth. Conception of knowledge as an action (the relationship between social epistemology and philosophy of action. Finally, the Conclusion: it includes the results of the research). Importance of the research comes in terms of the alternative conception presented by Goldman to traditional epistemology that makes the individual a focus of research, which is social epistemology that looks at the social and personal dimensions of the individual, and Social epistemology is a modern branch of applied epistemology. To be more accurately it is a conceptual and normative study of the social dimensions of knowledge. Goldman proposed the idea of reliability instead of Foundationalism, as a basic solution to the epistemic justification of the beliefs of an individual or group, and he explained that "justified belief is the true reliable belief". Goldman also presented a theory in action and explained knowledge as a form of action, so to know is To Act, in order to achieve truth at the end, as Ernest Sosa (1940-.) expressed. |
