تؤدي العملات الرقمية دورا مهما في تطور التجارة ولاسيما الإلكترونية منها، فهي تمكن المتعاملين بها من إجراء الصفقات وتسوية قيمتها والشخص الذي يقوم بها موجود في منزله أو مكتبه، وتوفر في النفقات التي تستلزمها النقود التقليدية من إحداث مصارف ودفع رواتب موظفيها وغيرها من النفقات. وعلى الرغم من ذلك فإن لهذه العملات محظورا مهما يتمثل في استخدامها بشكل غير مشروع بغرض ارتكاب جريمة غسل الأموال، فتتحول من وسيلة لتطوير التجارة إلى أداة لارتكاب الجريمة. وقد حددت في هذا البحث الطرائق المناسبة للاستفادة من ميزات العملات الرقمية وحرمان المجرم من إمكانية استغلالها لارتكاب جريمة غسل الأموال بآن واحد. وفي سبيل الوصول إلى هذه الغاية. بحثت بداية في تعريف العملات الرقمية بوصفها مفهوما حديثا، وفي طبيعة العلاقة بينها وبين غسل الأموال وكيف استخدمت العملات الرقمية كوسيلة لارتكاب جريمة غسل الأموال. كما تطرقت إلى الآثار السيئة لجريمة غسل الأموال التي تطال نواحي الحياة جميعها، وكيف تسهم العملات الرقمية في تسهيل ارتكاب هذه الجريمة وتؤمن الأموال غير المشروعة التي يتم غسلها. كما تقدمت ببعض التوصيات التي يمكن أن تحمي العملات الرقمية من الاستخدام غير المشروع وتحافظ عليه.
Digital currencies play an important role in the development of commerce, especially electronic ones, as they enable their dealers to conduct transactions and settle their value while the person who carries out them is in his home or office, and saves on the expenses required by traditional money such as setting up banks and paying the salaries of their employees and other expenses. Despite this, these currencies have an important prohibition represented in their illegal use for the purpose of committing the crime of money laundering, so they turn from a means of developing trade into a tool for committing the crime. In this research, the appropriate methods were identified to take advantage of the advantages of digital currencies and deny the criminal the possibility of exploiting them to commit the crime of money laundering at the same time. In order to reach this end In the beginning, I discussed the definition of digital currencies as a modern concept, and the nature of the relationship between them and money laundering. And how digital currencies were used as a means to commit money laundering. It also touched on the bad effects of money laundering that affect all aspects of life, and how digital currencies contribute to facilitating the commission of money laundering. This crime and secures the illegal money that is laundered . I also made some recommendations that can protect and preserve digital currencies from illegal use.
