International environmental law aims to protect not only the natural environment and its elements but also the human environment, including health and social conditions. Its ultimate goal is to prioritize the well-being of human beings, who are the highest form of living beings. However, due to the increase of international pollutants and their impact on life forms, there has been a growing demand to address this issue. As a result, numerous conferences were held, which led to the development of a range of international agreements, declarations, protocols, decisions, and recommendations that established and endorsed various principles for protecting the environment. These principles include criminal liability for environmental crimes, which has its own legal principles, nature, and challenges. |
