المستخلص: This study examines oppression and marginalization in Duong Thu Huong’s Novel without Name and Kim Echlin’s The Disappeared. The study sheds light on the factors and circumstances that result in oppression and marginalization depicted in the selected works. On the one hand, it demonstrates how the characters suffer from mistreatment or deprivation which negatively affected their lives. On the other hand, it highlights marginalization as an act of social negligence exerted by some characters to control other characters’ behaviours or decisions. As a result, it explores oppression and marginalization as destruction social phenomena leading to the deterioration of not only society, but also individuals and their ability to be self-autonomous. Therefore, the study’s methodology will be merely qualitative i.e., it textual analysis of the selected woks’ characters and narrative descriptions that unravel the authentic effect of oppression and marginalization upon their living conditions and social state of affairs.
