المستخلص: تكلمت في هذا البحث عن بداية ونشأة تسمية الأعاصير والعواصف بتسميات الإناث، وتطور هذا الأمر حتى التزمته هيئات الأرصاد العالمية وفق نظم وجداول معينة، ودرست الباعث على هذه التسمية، وبينت أن كثيرا من الباحثين من يرجع تسمية الأعاصير بأسماء الإناث لموقفهم المتطرف من المرأة والمتحيز ضدها أو التشاؤم بها، ولوجود مشابهة أطوار الإعصار، أو العاصفة بأطوار المرأة من الغموض والتقلب وعدم الأمان، وتعرضت لذكر الأنشطة النسوية التي عارضت هذه التسميات، وهل هذا الأمر بقي على مفهوم واحد أم تغيرت مفاهيم الناس حول هذا الأمر؟ فربما أطلق بعضهم التسمية أو فهمها على سبيل التفاؤل وليس التشاؤم؛ لأن المرأة لطيفة وليست بعنيفة، وبناء على هذه الاعتقادات بينت أن حكم التسمية يدور علة التسمية والدافع لها، ثم وضحت أهم ما قد يقع من المخالفات في هذه التسمية، من نسبة الرزق لها، أو وقوع السخط أو الغصب منها، وبينت ما يجوز نسبته للرياح والعواصف والأعاصير مما لا يجوز، ثم ذكرت أخيرا عدم جواز تسمية هذه الأعاصير بأسماء آلهة تعبد من دون الله سبحانه وتعالى، أو أسماء يعتريها شبهة ذلك، أو بأسماء بعض الفراعنة، وتعرضت لمسألة هل مع يجوز للعرب تسمية أعاصيرهم بأسماء أعجمية أم أن ذلك يكره؟.

In this research, I discussed the origins and development of naming hurricanes and storms with female names, and how this practice evolved until it was adopted by international meteorological agencies in accordance with specific rules and regulations. I studied the motivation behind this naming convention and pointed out that many researchers attribute the naming of hurricanes with female names to their extreme stance against women, or their bias or pessimistic view towards them, due to the similarity between the stages of a hurricane or storm and the phases of a woman's life, characterized by ambiguity, changeability, and insecurity. I also addressed the feminist activities that opposed these names and questioned whether people's perceptions of this issue remained the same or changed over time. Perhaps some might interpret or understood this naming practice in an optimistic manner rather than a pessimistic one, believing that women are gentle rather than violent. Based on these beliefs, I explained that the ruling upon naming [these hurricanes] revolves around the reasoning and motivation behind it. I then clarified the potential violations that could occur in this naming, such as attributing sustenance to it, or provoking discontent or anger from it. I also pointed out what is permissible and what is not permissible to attribute to winds, storms, and hurricanes. Lastly, I mentioned the prohibition of naming these hurricanes with the names of gods worshipped besides Allah, or names of that nature, or with the names of some pharaohs. I also dealt with the question of whether it is permissible for Arabs to name their hurricanes with non- Arabic names or whether that is disliked.
