يهدف المقياس الحالي إلى أعداد أداة لتقييم مهارات الوالدين في التواصل مع طفلهما التوحدي وذلك في أربعة أبعاد هم: البعد الأول (التواصل غير اللفظي) وهو عبارة عن تلك المهارات الأولية للطفل ومدى تمكن الوالدين من معرفة تلك المهارات، ويشمل البعد الثاني (التواصل اللفظي) وهو يرتبط بالمهارات الأكثر تقدما في تواصل الوالدين مع طفلهما التوحدي كقدرة الطفل على التحدث والتعبير عن احتياجاته، ويشمل البعد الثالث (التفاعل الاجتماعي) وهى ترتبط بمهارات التفاعل بين الوالدين وطفلهما التوحدي ومدى قدرة الوالدين على مشاركة الطفل مع الآخرين وبناء علاقات معهم، ويشمل البعد الرابع (التعامل مع السلوكيات المضطربة) وهى تشمل السلوك النمطي، وإيذاء الذات، ونوبات ومدى قدرة الوالدين على التعامل مع تلك السلوكيات. وللتحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية للمقياس واستخراج معاييره تم تطبيقه على عينة قوامها (114) أسرة (الأب- الأم) لديهم طفل توحدي، وأسفرت نتائج البحث عن أن المقياس يتمتع بدرجة عالية من الصدق والثبات، كما تم حساب المعايير المئينية والتائية التي تتيح استخدامه في الأبحاث والدراسات السيكومترية والإكلينيكية بدرجة عالية من الثقة.
The primary objective of this scale is to develop a tool for assessing the communication skills of parents with their autistic child across four distinct dimensions. The first dimension centres on non-verbal communication, encompassing the child's initial abilities and the parents' aptitude to identify these skills. The second dimension pertains to verbal communication, delving into more advanced parent-child communication skills, especially regarding the child's ability to express needs and engage in speech. The third dimension revolves around social interaction, examining the interaction skills between parents and their autistic child, including the ability of parents to facilitate the child's interactions with others and build relationships. Lastly, the fourth dimension covers the handling of disordered behaviours, encompassing behaviours such as stereotypical actions, self-harm, and seizures and the parents' ability to deal with these behaviours. To assess the psychometric attributes of this scale and to derive its metrics, it was administered to a sample of 114 families consisting of both parents (father and mother) having an autistic child. The research findings indicated that the scale exhibits strong levels of both reliability and consistency. Furthermore, calculations involving percentile and T criteria have been carried out, rendering the scale suitable for utilization in psychometric and clinical research with a high level of confidence.
