This research aims to identify the impact of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) on social entrepreneurship. The main idea here is how to develop and stimulate social entrepreneurship based on SSCM practices and how this process can increase sustainable performance. To attend this objective, a theorical model was developed, with a social entrepreneurship, as mediating variable. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 140 SMEs on Saudi Arabia. Structural equation model test was adopted in order to identify the intensity and the relative importance of different relations between variables and the mediation effect. The results shows that this effect is different from one practice to another and the impact on sustainable performance level is variable. At the end of this research, we identify the one best way to develop, encourage and stimulate sustainable performance based on social entrepreneurship and SSCM practices. Socially inclusive practices seem to be the most important, based on our results. The mediation effect seems to be total, especially if we consider the importance of the social aspect on the sustainable development strategy of the country. Our findings demonstrate that the SSCM practices can stimulate the sustainable performance but the presence of social entrepreneurship amplify this effect. It is due to the synergetic effect of the social aspect embedded on our concept.
