المستخلص: Algerian agriculture is distinguish by a lack of natural endowments (precipitation, fertile land, relief) which hinders the intensification of crops. Moreover, climate change accentuates the water deficit already installed in a country classified below the absolute scarcity threshold (<500m3/inhabitant/year), this climate change also affects agricultural performance, especially for so-called strategic crops (cereals, dry beans, fodder) thus mortgage the food security of Algerians. The analysis is three dimensional climate change, water deficit, food security, the circle is vicious, and any public intervention must be strategic.

L ’ a g riculture Algérienne est caractérisé par une insuffisance de dotations naturelles (précipitations, terres fertiles, relief) qui entrave l’intensification des cultures. Par ailleurs le changement climatique vient accentuer le déficit hydrique déjà installé dans un pays classé sous le seuil de rareté absolu (<500m3/habitant/an), ce changement climatique vient aussi affecter les performances agricoles surtout pour les cultures dites stratégiques (céréales, légumes secs, fourrages) hypothéquant ainsi la sécurité alimentaire des Algériens. L’analyse est tridimensionnelle changement climatique, déficit hydrique et sécurité alimentaires, le cercle est vicieux et toute intervention publique doit être stratégique.
