المستخلص: يحتل الفكر القومي دورا كبيرا وخطيرا في حياة الشعوب، هو يرسم الخطوط الرئيسية في شخصية وحياة الإنسان. فهو يعين على التقدم ويدفع عجلته نحو مدارج العزة والسيادة ويعبر عن واقع العصر، ويكشف عن مطالب الناس ومشكلاتهم، وكذلك صراعاتهم مع قوى داخلية عميلة وقوى دخيلة خارجية. ومن هنا كان الفكر امتدادا يصل الماضي بالحاضر وعونا على رؤى مستقبلية واضحة. وفكر جمال عبد الناصر لا يمكن أن يكون إلا وعيا بالعصر وفهما له، فقد كانت الأمة العربية قبل ظهور جمال عبد الناصر جزء منها تابع للدولة العثمانية ثم انتقل إلى سيطرة الإمبراطورية البريطانية والفرنسية، وأجزاء منها خاضعة لسيطرة إيطالية وإسبانية. إذ أن اتفاقية سايكس بيكو عبرت بجلاء عن ذكاء نادر في تجزئة الوطن العربي، مسيطرا بذلك الغرب الأوروبي على إرادة وحرية الشعب العربي. إن الحرية كانت مطلبا طبيعيا وتلقائيا عند جماهير الأمة العربية، التي ترى بأن الإنسان يولد حرا على أرضها وكان طبيعيا ألا يعترف الشعب العربي الواحد بالحدود المصطنعة التي أقامها الاستعمار على أرضه، ولذا فإن الدعوة إلى الوحدة مطلب الجماهير العربية دعوة أصيلة ونداء طبيعي ضد التجزئة التي فرضتها القوى الأجنبية الفرنسية والبريطانية.

National thought occupies a great and dangerous role in peoples' lives, as it draws the main lines in the personality and life of man. It helps to progress and pushes its wheel towards the runways of pride and sovereignty, expresses the reality of the times, and reveals the demands and problems of the people, as well as their struggles with client internal forces and external foreign powers. Hence, thought was an extension that connects the past with the present and helped us with clear future visions. And the thought of Jamal Abdel Nasser can only be an awareness of the era and an understanding of it. Before the emergence of Jamal Abdel Nasser, the Arab nation was part of it affiliated with the Ottoman state and then moved to the control of the British and French empires, and parts of it are under Italian and Spanish control. As the Sykes-Picot Agreement clearly expressed a rare intelligence in the fragmentation of the Arab world, thus controlling the European West over the will and freedom of the Arab people. Freedom was a natural and automatic requirement of the masses of the Arab nation, who see that a person is born free on their land and it was natural for the single Arab people not to recognize the artificial borders established by colonialism on their land, and therefore the call to unity is the demand of the Arab masses an authentic call and a natural call against the division that Imposed by the French and British foreign powers.
