المستخلص: يناقش هذا البحث مفهوما مهما في مجال التصوف والرهبنة في العصر الوسيط المسيحي. لدى واحد من أهم شخصيات اللاهوت المسيحي في القرن الثالث عشر، وهو القديس جريجوري بالاماس (Gregory Palamas ١٢٩٦- ١٣٥٩م)، والذي تأتي أهمية دراسته لعدة أسباب، أهمها معالجته مفهوم الهدوئية وطريقة ممارساتها، واتخاذها أداة للوصول إلى المعرفة، التي تقوم بتوصيل الراغبين إلى الله. إلى جانب تقديمه رؤية جديدة تجمع الطبيعة الإنسانية بجانبيها الروحي والجسدي في الصلاة، وتأكيده على دور الجسد في الممارسة والتنسك وسلك طريق المعرفة، واعتباره عنصرا فاعلا وشريكا لا غنى عنه في إتمام وصول الإنسان واتحاده بالطاقات والأنوار الإلهية. كما طرح بالاماس مجموعة من المفاهيم المهمة في طريقته الهدوئيه مثل المعني الحقيقي للهدوئية، ومفهوم الجسد، ومعني الذات الإنسانية والاستنارة والتجلي، والمعاينة والجوهر والطاقة الإلهيتان، إضافة إلى مفهوم التأله الإنساني والذي يمثل غاية القديسين النهائية. وتتجلى أصالة بالاماس الفكرية في استطاعته وضع خطوات محددة يحصل بها القديسون على الاتحاد الكامل مع الطاقات الإلهية ومعاينتها، ولكن دون المساس في الوقت نفسه بالجوهر الإلهي.

This research discusses an important concept in the field of mysticism and monasticism in the medieval Christian era. It has one of the most important figures in Christian theology in the thirteenth century, Saint Gregory Palamas (1296-1359). The importance of his study comes from several aspects, the most important of which are: its treatment of the concept of hesychasm and the method of its practices, and its use as a tool to access knowledge, which connects those who desire to God. In addition to presenting a new vision that combines human nature with its spiritual and physical aspects in prayer, and its emphasis on the role of the body in practice, asceticism, and the path of knowledge, and considering it an active and indispensable partner in the completion of human access and his union with divine energies and lights. Palamas also presented a set of important concepts in his hesychasm, such as the true meaning of hesychia, the concept of the body, the meaning of the human self, illumination, manifestation, vision, divine essence and energy, in addition to the concept of human deification, which represents the final goal of the saints. The intellectual originality of Palamas is manifested in his ability to set specific steps by which the saints obtain complete union with the divine energies and examine them, without at the same time compromising the divine essence.
