|a من خصائص إمام المسلمين وخليفة رسول الله، أفضليته على جميع الأمة الإسلامية، ولأجلها يستحق خلافة رسول الله في المجتمع الإسلامي، ومن الممكن إقامة البرهان على استحقاقه بدليل الأفضلية. إذا لاحظنا كلمات أمير المؤمنين في نهج البلاغة وغيرها من الموسوعات الروائية الشيعية والسنية، نجد في احتجاجاته على معاوية وطلحة وزبير وغيرهم، انه قد استدل على استحقاقه للخلافة بأفضليته عليهم، وهذا ما نسميه دليل الأفضلية. بحيث نجده في مواضع متعدده يذكر مجموعة من فضائله وبها يثبت انه من استحق الخلافة بعد رسول الله، منها: (التمسك بأية المباهل، والتطهير والشراء والولاية وسقاية الحاج. أيضاً الروايات النبوية كحديث الطير والغدير والمنزلة والتشبيه ويوم الدار والأخوة وخير البرية ولافتى إلا علي وغيرها). أضف إلى ذلك بيان فضائله كترعرعه في حجر رسول الله، كونه من السابقين في الإيمان، الإيثار والجهاد في سبيل الله، شجاعته وفروسيته، زهده وتقواه، كونه زوجا لفاطمة وأبا الحسنين. كل هذه الفضائل وغيرها مما لا مجال لتطرقها هنا، مع تمسك الإمام بها، إن دلت على شيء تدل على أفضليته ومن ثم إمامته على الناس بعد رسول الله.

By looking at the words of imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Nahj al-Balagha and Hadith texts that exist between Shia and Sunni, it is clear that he in various positions such as the debates that he had with Muawiya, Talha, Zubair and others, It has proven its rightness and superiority and it can be called as the superiority argument.as he has narrated in his words a collection of his virtues then by citing these items, he has proved his superiority and the worthiness of the Muslims. caliph of The items like: citing the verses of the Qur'an, such as the verses of Mubahlah, Tathir, Shar'a, Wilayat, Saqayat al-Hajj and Citing the Prophetic hadiths such as the hadiths of Tayir, Ghadir, Manzlat, Tashbiyyah, Yum al-Dar, brotherhood(okhuvat), Khair Ummati, Khair al-Bariah, La Fati Ela Ali and also the virtues that he expressed from his own words, such as being brought up in the lap of the Messenger of God, being first in faith, self-sacrifice for Islam, Jihad in the way of God, courage and chivalry, asceticism and piety, being wife of Fatima peace be upon her and father of Hasanain peace be upon them. These virtues and many other virtues that were not mentioned in this research, therefore, by the statement of the hadith itself and the description of how the Imam cited that hadith it becomes clear that these virtues indicated the supremacy of Imam ALI peace be upon him, and by proving his superiority his imamate is proven.
