المستخلص: Traditional Algerian women's clothing is an integral part of a clothing system and is therefore a reflection of the cultural heritage of society. The objective is to show the link that exists between this cultural object and a semiotics of language and to apply the structural model, which reveals to us the immanent character of meanings. It is then a question of showing that we can make sense with our clothes by applying the steps of the semiotic approach to written descriptions. After highlighting the main specificities of traditional women's clothing in the different regions of Algeria, our analysis is based on texts taken from Leyla Belkaïd's anthologies. Traditional Algerian women's clothing appeared structured as much as the language. It is a stable and codified system that deserves to be exploited and considered scientifically among the objects of applied semiotics.

Le vêtement traditionnel algérien féminin fait partie intégrante d’un système vestimentaire, et, est par conséquent le reflet du patrimoine culturel de la société. L’objectif est de montrer le lien qui existe entre cet objet culturel et une sémiotique du langage, et d’appliquer le modèle structural qui nous révèle le caractère immanent des significations. Il s’agit alors de montrer que l’on peut faire du sens avec nos vêtements en appliquant les démarches de l’approche sémiotique sur des descriptions écrites du vêtement. Après avoir mis en valeur les principales spécificités du vêtement traditionnel féminin dans les différentes régions de l’Algérie, notre analyse s’est appuyée sur des textes extraits des anthologies de Leyla Belkaïd. Le vêtement traditionnel algérien féminin est apparu comme structuré autant que l’est la langue. C’est un système stable et codifié qui mérite d’être exploité et d’être considéré scientifiquement parmi les objets de la sémiotique appliquée.
