المستخلص: تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على التحديات الاجتماعية والتربوية والاقتصادية والصحية التي تواجه أسر الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في المجتمع السعودي، بالإضافة إلى محاولة التوصل لمجموعة من المقترحات للتغلب على التحديات التي قد تواجه أسر الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في المجتمع السعودي. وتعتبر الدراسة وصفية، ويتمثل مجتمع الدراسة من أسر الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في المجتمع السعودي، وتم الاعتماد على العينة القصدية اختصارا للوقت والجهد، وقد تكونت من (90) أسرة من أسر الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في مدينة الرياض، كما تم الاعتماد على أداة الاستبانة حيث طبقت على أولياء أمور المعاقين (الآباء أو الأمهات) عينة الدراسة. وقد أكدت نتائج الدراسة أن أهم التحديات الاجتماعية هي (صعوبة تواصل الشخص ذوي الإعاقة مع أقرانه، كثرة الخلافات والنزاعات الأسرية لأبسط الأسباب)، وأن أهم التحديات التربوية هي (عدم الوعي بأساليب التعامل مع الشخص ذوي الإعاقة وقت الغضب، عدم القدرة على إخراج الشخص ذوي الإعاقة من العزلة التي يعيش فيها)، وأن أهم التحديات الاقتصادية هي (ارتفاع تكلفة السكن مع قلة الدخل الشهري، ارتفاع تكلفة تأهيل الشخص ذوي الإعاقة)، وكذلك أهم التحديات الصحية هي (حاجة الشخص ذوي الإعاقة للسفر للخارج، التأثير السلبي لبعض الأمراض على الشخص ذوي الإعاقة، زيادة تكلفة العلاج للشخص ذوي الإعاقة).

The study aims to identify the social, educational, economic and health challenges facing families of persons with disabilities in Saudi society, in addition to trying to come up with a set of proposals to overcome the challenges that may face families of persons with disabilities in Saudi society. The study is considered descriptive, and the study population is represented by the families of persons with disabilities in the Saudi society, and the intentional sample was relied upon in order to shorten the time and effort, and it consisted of (90) families of persons with disabilities in the city of Riyadh, and the questionnaire was used as it was applied to Parents of the disabled (fathers or mothers) as a study sample. The results of the study confirmed that the most important social challenges are (difficulty communicating with a person with a disability with his peers, frequent family disputes and conflicts for the simplest reasons), and that the most important educational challenges are (lack of awareness of methods of dealing with a person with a disability at the time of anger, the inability to remove a person with a disability from the isolation in which he lives), and that the most important economic challenges are (the high cost of housing with low monthly income, the high cost of rehabilitating a person with a disability), as well as the most important health challenges are (the need for a person with a disability to travel abroad, the negative impact of some diseases on a person with a disability , increasing the cost of treatment for a person with a disability).
