المستخلص: إن المسن هو من اجتمعت عليه مجموعة من العوامل البيولوجية والنفسية والاجتماعية التي تؤدي إلى الحد من قدراته على التأقلم مع متغيرات الحياة من حوله، ورعاية المسنين من قضايا الهامة التي تحظى بالاهتمام والدراسة في العديد من الدول العربية، وتعتبر القدرة الحركية للمسن من أهم العوامل المؤثرة في حياة المسن وتمثل الإعاقة الحركية أهم المشاكل التي تواجه المسنين الذين يعانون من خلل في قدرتهم الحركية مما يؤثر على مظاهر حياتهم الصحية والنفسية والاجتماعية، وتواجههم العديد من الصعوبات نتيجة عدم وجود الأسس التصميمة المناسبة في المباني الخاصة بهم. ولذلك ترى الباحثة أنه عند إنشاء مباني لكبار السن لابد لنا من مراعاة تصميم أبنية مراعية لقدراتهم واستعداداتهم، ومراعاة اختيار عناصر البيئة الداخلية المناسبة بأسلوب حديث يتوافق مع نشاطهم وتلبيته مختلف احتياجاتهم وتطويع الأسس العلمية الحديثة في للتصميم الداخلي، واختيار الأثاث والتجهيزات التي ترتفع بقدراتهم وتحقق لهم مستوى مناسب من الراحة والخصوصية والأمان والاستفادة القصوى بما يتناسب مع كل مسن ويقلل من معاناته، حيث أنه من الضروري توجيه اهتمامنا كمصممين الوصول إلى حلول وأفكار تصميمية تعمل على تلبي احتياجاتهم، وخاصه ذوي القدرات المحدودة حركياً من مستعملي الكراسي المتحركة، والوسائل المساعدة الأخرى، مما يساعدهم على الاستشفاء ويحقق لهم سبل الراحة والتأهيل والدعم الصحي والنفسي والاجتماعي بسهولة ويسر، وبما يتناسب مع الفروق الفردية لكل مسن.

The elderly is the one who has met a set of biological, psychological and social factors that lead to reducing his abilities to adapt to the variables of life around him, and caring for the elderly is one of the important issues that receive attention and study in many Arab countries, and the motor ability of the elderly is one of the most important factors affecting the life of the elderly, and motor disability represents the most important problems facing the elderly who suffer from a defect in their motor ability, which affects the manifestations of their health, psychological and social life, and many face them of difficulties is the result of the lack of proper design foundations in their premises. Therefore, the researcher believes that when constructing buildings for the elderly, we must take into account the design of buildings that take into account their abilities and preparations, and take into account the selection of the appropriate interior environment elements in a modern style that corresponds to their activity and meets their various needs and adapt the modern scientific foundations in interior design, and choose furniture and equipment that raise their capabilities and achieve them an appropriate level of comfort, privacy, safety and maximum benefit commensurate with each elderly and reduce his suffering, as it is necessary to direct our attention as designers to reach design solutions and ideas It works to meet their needs, especially those with limited mobility abilities who use wheelchairs and other aids, which helps them to recover and achieve for them the means of comfort, rehabilitation and health, psychological and social support easily and conveniently, commensurate with the individual differences of each elderly.
