المستخلص: يعد التاريخ من أهم العلوم، وأكثرها فائدة للبشرية بعد علوم الدين؛ لكنه من أكثر العلوم عرضة للتحريف والتشويه، وطمس الحقائق، فليس كل ما يكتب ينطلق من نظرة موضوعية للأحداث وقد لا يمثل الحقائق التاريخية بصورة صادقة، فالمؤرخون في كل زمان ومكان يختلفون في منهجهم في التدوين التاريخي، وفي رؤيتهم للأحداث، وتحليلها، وتفسيرها، وبيان العوامل المحركة لها بل وفي نتائجها، فمنهم من ينساق في كتاباته للظروف الآنية القائمة وعمليات التحول من دون أن ينظر لحركة التاريخ نظرة شمولية، ومنهم من يكتب التاريخ تقربا إلى الحكام وإرضائهم أو خوفا منهم، ومنهم من ينساق في إرضاء الجماهير وتسلطها واندفاعاتها العاطفية في بعض الأحيان أو أنه يكتب على وفق نظرة مسبقة تنطلق من العقيدة الدينية أو النظرية والولاء والانحياز الذي ينتمي إليه، والقلة منهم من يكون رائده الموضوعية، وخدمة الحقيقة بتجرد بعيدا عن الولاءات الحزبية، والعشائرية والمذهبية، هؤلاء هم أكثر المؤرخين عرضة للنقد.

Various political, social and economic factors have led the Arab world in recent decades to increasing interest in “ history” reading, interpreting, and writing, an interest that resulted from a general sense of the need to realize the roots of the general phenomenon in the life of the nation properly, amid an era characterized by the most complex and comprehensive social transformations. Many of the convictions provided by these justifications, realizing that they were written according to concepts that were the product of an era that is no longer nowadays era, and therefore they lack the stability that generates a new conviction, Unlike the foreign historians who based their writings on the experiences of their own nations, or to serve certain political goals, as they generally do not represent it, and are not suitable for discovering its roots. The historical thought in Iraq is an important element of the Arab-Islamic culture, and is closely related to the civilizational and cultural foundations of the history of Iraq and the Arab nation, as the civilizational prosperity witnessed by Iraq during the early Abbasid eras led to the emergence of important basic justifications for the emergence of many types of human and pure sciences, because the intellectual and civilizational needs of society require the emergence and emergence of that knowledge, which applies to this day people.
