The WAQF (endowment) has an influential role in the advancement of social institutions in their sustainable development activities. The endowment stems from Islamic principles, so it can make a balance between managing the endowment, carrying out its charitable work, and the problems it faces. The Ottoman Empire, and later on its heir the current Turkish state, took care of the endowment, as the endowments in Turkey play an effective role in society as they diversify their sources, fields, and services to achieve the purpose of the endowment, which is to cooperate and help others while ensuring its continuity. The endowment culture in Turkey is largely based on the educational field, and this is evidenced by their enormous contribution to education, especially to students and scholars, through the establishment of libraries, schools, universities, science houses, and others. The subject of this study discusses the contribution of the Turkish Endowment to support students in Africa (the Endowment for Humanitarian Relief as a model). In this study, some models from the endowments of the Ottoman Empire and the modern Turkish endowments will be presented briefly, as those models succeeded in serving the Islamic community despite the harshness of the events and the circumstances of the surrounding conditions, but they remained steadfast in performing their role. The endowment is one of the most important Islamic systems and the most important source of funding in the Islamic community as it supports science students in Africa as well
