تناولت الدراسة موضوع الألوية والرايات في صدر الإسلام من الفترة 1هـ- ٤٠ هـ- وقد قسمت الدراسة إلى مقدمة وفصلين وخاتمة- تناول الفصل الأول مبحثين المبحث الأول تعريف الألوية والرايات عند أهل اللغة والمحدثين والمؤرخين وخلاصنا من تعريفهما إن اللغويين متفقين على أن معناهما العلم ويترادف معناهما بينما اختلاف المحدثين والمؤرخين على أن معناهما واحد العلم ولكن لكل منهما شكل وغاية وأهداف ثم تناولت في المبحث الثاني نشأة الألوية والرايات عند الأمم القديمة كالفارسية والرومية والعرب في العصر الجاهلي. أما الفصل الثاني فقد جاء في فصلين تناولت في الفصل الأول الألوية والرايات في زمن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ومن كان يحمله وأشهر من حملها لرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم والصفات والمؤهلات للاختيار والمبحث الثاني تناولت الألوية والرايات زمن الخلفاء الراشدين وهل استمرت على نفس النهج زمن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وأبرز القادة في عهدهم وأهم السمات والصفات والمؤهلات لهم. وانتهت الدراسة بأبرز النتائج التي توصلت إليها.
The study dealt with the subject of the flag and the banners in the beginning of Islam from the period 1- 40 AH, and the study was divided into an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion, the first chapter dealt with two topics, where the first topic was the definition of the flags and banners among the people of language and modernists and historians and concluded from the definition that linguists agree that the meaning of flags. The modernists and historians differed on the fact that their meaning is one, namely, flags, but each has its own form, purpose and objectives. Then, it deals with the emergence of flags and banners in ancient nations such as Persian, Roman and Arab in the pre-Islamic era. As for the second chapter, there are two chapters dealing with, the first chapter flags and banners in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the one who carried them and the most famous peoples of carrying them to the messenger of god (peace be upon him) and the qualities and qualifications for the chosen ones, and in the second chapter in the time of the Righteous Caliphs and whether it continued along the same lines as the time of the prophet (peace be upon him) and the most prominent leaders in their era and the most important features and qualities and qualifications for them. The study ended with the most prominent findings.
