المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث بالدراسة: الإمام أبا عمرو عثمان بن سعيد الداني، مبرزا فيها شخصيته النحوية، وعنوان البحث: (أبو عمرو الداني، واختياراته النحوية، من خلال كتابه: المكتفي، في الوقف والابتدا)، الذي ضم ما يزيد عن ستمئة مسألة نحوية وإعرابية؛ إذ أن أحكام الوقف والابتداء تعتمد اعتماد كبيرا على الأحكام النحوية. وقد تضمن العمل مقدمة وتمهيدا: شمل التمهيد ترجمة أبي عمرو الداني، ثم علاقة الوقف والابتداء بالنحو، ثم المبحث الأول الذي درس اختيارات أبي عمرو الداني النحوية، فالثاني: منهجه في عرض المسائل، فالثالث: منهجه في الاحتجاج والاستدلال، فالرابع الذي تناول الباحث فيه اهتمامه بالعامل، ثم الخامس: مصطلحاته وملامح مذهبه النحوي، ثم الخاتمة، التي خلص الباحث فيها لنتائج أهمها: * كشف عن العلاقة الوطيدة بين علم الوقف والابتداء، وعلم النحو. * أن أبا عمرو الداني كان نحويا معتبرا، متمكنا من صناعة النحو، وقد تجلى ذلك من خلال نقاشاته وعرضه المسائل النحوية، واستشهاده بأقوال الكثير من العلماء. * أن أبا عمرو لم يكن متعصبا في إبداء رأيه، بل كان يناقش بكل هدوء، ويعرض رأيه، مؤيدا إياه بالحجة والبرهان. * ميله إلى المدرسة الكوفية، من خلال مصطلحاته النحوية. * ميله إلى ضرب الأمثلة في بعض مسائله، وإيراد النظائر؛ ليقربها من الفهم، مما يدل على المسلك التعليمي في شخصيته. * لم يكثر من التفصيلات النحوية عند عرض المسائل، بل كان يكتفي بما يعضد اختياراته النحوية، أو توجيهاته الإعرابية. * وقد كان مهتما بالعامل النحوي، وهي النظرية التي قام عليها النحو العربي، وقد ظهر ذلك في البحث خلال نقاشاته لبعض المسائل.

This research studies Imam Abu Amr ʿUthman bin Saʿeed Al-Dānī, highlighting his grammatical opinions. The title of the research “Abu Amr Al-Dani, and his grammatical choices through his book: Al-Muktafā, fi Al-Waqf wa-al-Ibtidā” (translates as “The sufficient guide for pausing and initiating”), including more than six hundred grammatical and syntactic issues, given that the provisions of pausing and initiating depend heavily on grammatical provisions. The study is composed of an introduction and five sections. The introduction (and preface) present the scholar under investigation and the relationship of pausing and initiation with Grammar. Section I studies Abu Amr al-Dānī’s grammatical choices; Section II, his approach to presenting issues; Section III, his approach to contradiction and inference; Section IV, his interest in the “factor”; and finally, Section V, his terminology and the features of his grammatical approach. The study resulted in a number of conclusions, notably: there is a close relationship between Grammar and pausing-initiation studies; al- Dānī was a respected grammarian, capable of wielding grammar, as evident through his discussions and presentation of grammatical issues, and his citation of the sayings of many scholars; he was not fanatical in expressing his opinion, and would rather present his ideas calmly and firmly, supported with definitive examples; his preference to the Kufic school was evident, through his grammatical terms; his tendency to set examples and similarities in some of the issues was clear, to clarify and make argument easy to understand, proving to be a systematic scholar of a high caliber; he did not tend to bring many grammatical details when presenting an issue, but was content with what supports his grammatical choices or his syntactic inclinations; he showed much interest in the grammatical factor, which is the theory on which Arabic grammar is based, during his discussions of some issues.
