المستخلص: لقد حاول المقال تقصي الدراسات التي تحدثت عن فئة الأصوات "شبه الصائتة" وموقها من البنية الصوتية للغة العربية، وإبراز جهد القدماء والمحدثين حولها. فبالعودة إلى مختلف الأبحاث والدراسات الصوتية الحديثة التي أقيمت حول هذه الفئة، نجد أن الدارسين والعلماء، قد أفردوها بمباحث خاصة، وميزوها بوضوح، سواء من حيث المصطلح أو من حيث المفهوم وحتى الوظيفة، وهما صوتان اثنان في العربية (الواو) و(الياء). أما بالعودة إلى القدماء، فعلى الرغم من أن هذه الأصوات قد شابها اضطراب لدى تحليل النظام الصوتي للغة، إلا أنهم قد تحسسوا وجودها وصرحوا بقيمتها الخلافية مع فئة "الصوائت"، إذ هي عند أكثرهم "كالصوامت"؛ يعتورها ما يعتورهم. وخلص البحث إلى أن الدراسات حول هذه الفئة محفوفة بمشاكل عدة، وأهمها إبراز قيمتها الفونولوجية، وتجليتها أكثر بما يتناسب مع قيمتها الوظيفية في النظام الصوتي للغة العربية الفصحى، كما أن هناك مشكلا آخر يتمثل في تمييزهما عن شبيهيهما من الصوائت، وهما "الواو" و"الياء" الصائتين خاصة أثناء الكتابة، وهو ما أفرز مشكلات تعليمية لم تتم حلحلتها بعد، أهمها؛ تعداد الأصوات الأساسية للغة العربية، إلى جانب وظيفتها المقطعية، كأصوات صامتة موجودة بالفعل في النظام الصوتي للغة.

The article attempted to investigate the studies that talked about the category of “semi-vowels” and their location in the phonetic structure of the Arabic language, and to highlight the efforts of the ancient and the modern linguists about them. Going back to the various researches and modern phonetic studies that were conducted on this category, we find that scholars and scientists have singled it out with special topics, and distinguished it clearly, whether in terms of terminology or in terms of concept, and even function, and they are two sounds in Arabic (Waw) and (Yaã). As for returning to the ancients, although these sounds were disturbed when analyzing the phonemic system of the language, they realized their existence, and stated that they differ from the category of “vowels”, as they are like “consonants” identically. The article concluded that studies on this category are fraught with several problems, the most important of which is highlighting its phonological value, and manifesting it more in proportion to its functional value in the phonetic system of the classical Arabic language. There is also another problem represented in distinguishing them from the two similar vowels, which are the (Waw) and (Yaã). vowels, especially during the teaching of writing, which has resulted in educational problems that have not yet been resolved, As teaching the number of basic sounds of the Arabic language, along with their syllabic function, as a "Consonants" witch is already present in the phoneme system of the language.
