المستخلص: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة درجة وعي طلبة أقسام علم المكتبات والمعلومات في الجامعات الأردنية في إقليم الوسط بحقوق الملكية الفكرية، وإلى معرفة أثر متغيرات: الجنس، ونوع الجامعة، واسم الجامعة على درجة وعيهم بهذه الحقوق، وقد تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة تخصص علم المكتبات والمعلومات في الجامعات الأردنية في إقليم الوسط، البالغ عددهم (784) طالبا وطالبة خلال الفصل الدراسي الثاني من العام الدراسي 2021-2022، وتم اختيار عينة عشوائية بسيطة بواقع (350) طالبا وطالبة استجابوا جميعا. تم تطوير استبانة تكونت من قسمين: الأول، اشتمل على البيانات الديموغرافية للمستجيبين، والثاني تكون من أربع مجالات حول درجة وعي الطلبة محقوق الملكية الفكرية. بينت النتائج أن الدرجة الكلية لتقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة عن مجالات درجة وعي طلبة أقسام علم المكتبات والمعلومات في الجامعات الأردنية في إقليم الوسط بحقوق الملكية الفكرية كانت مرتفعة- وأنه لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة نحو درجة الوعي محقوق الملكية الفكرية تعزى إلى متغيري الجنس، ونوع الجامعة في جميع المجالات، بينما تبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائي تعزى لمتغير اسم الجامعة ولصالح الجامعة الأردنية في مجال السرقة العلمية والانتحال. وأوصت الدراسة بتصميم مقررات مستقلة لتدريس حقوق الملكية الفكرية في أقسام علم المكتبات والمعلومات والأقسام الأخرى في الجامعات الأردنية، والحرص على تفعيل برامج كشف السرقات العلمية ذات الكفاءة العالية في الجامعات الأردنية لنشر ثقافة عدم الانتحال.

This study aimed to explore the degree of awareness of students in library and information science departments in Jordanian universities in the central region about intellectual property rights, and to study the effect of the variables: gender, type of university, and the name of the university on the degree of their awareness of these rights. The study population consisted of all (784) students majoring in library and information science at Jordanian universities in the central region, during the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022. A simple random sample of (350) students, all of whom responded, was selected. A questionnaire was developed to answer the study questions that consisted of two parts: the first, which included the demographic data of the respondents, and the second, which consisted of four areas about the degree of students' awareness of intellectual property rights. Results showed that the overall degree of the study sample’s estimates regarding the areas of the degree of awareness of library and information science students in Jordanian universities in the central region of intellectual property rights was high, and that there were no statistically significant differences between the estimates of the study sample towards the degree of awareness of intellectual property rights due to the two variables Gender, and the type of university in all fields, while it was found that there were statistically significant differences due to the variable of the name of the university and in favor of the University of Jordan in the field of plagiarism. The study recommended the design of independent courses for the teaching of intellectual property rights in the departments of library science and other departments in Jordanian universities and making sure to activate high-efficiency scientific theft detection programs in Jordanian universities to spread a culture of non-plagiarism.
