المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع مؤسسات التعليم العالي في اليمن، ورصد المتغيرات المجتمعية عالمية ومحلية في بعدها السياسي والاقتصادي والثقافي والاجتماعي، وتحليل انعكاساتها على مؤسسات التعليم العالي في الجمهورية اليمنية ومتطلبات مواجهتها، باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من واقع الوثائق والدراسات والرؤى والكتابات ذات الصلة، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من الاستنتاجات أكدت في مجملها على قوة تأثير وانعكاسات المتغيرات المجتمعية بشقيها العالمي والمحلي؛ سياسيا، واقتصاديا، وثقافيا، واجتماعيا على مؤسسات التعليم العالي في اليمن، وقوة التحديات التي فرضتها على تلك المؤسسات، ما جعلها عاجزة عن مواكبة متطلبات العملية التربوية والتعليمة، وخلصت الدراسة إلى عدد من التوصيات أكدت على ضرورة قيام الدولة اليمنية والجهات المعنية بالتعليم العالي وبمشاركة ومساعدة القطاع الخاص بدعم ومساندة الجامعات بما يضمن تحديث منظومتها لتواكب متطلبات العصر واحتياجات المجتمع وسوق العمل المحلية والدولية، وإيجاد خريج مسلح بالمعارف والمهارات قادرا على التعامل مع تقنيات العصر، وانتهت الدراسة بوضع عدد من المقترحات البحثية.

The study aimed to identify the reality of higher education institutions in Yemen, monitor global and local societal changes in their political, economic, cultural and social dimension, and analyze their implications for higher education institutions in the Republic of Yemen. It also deals with the requirements to confront them, using the descriptive analytical approach based on the reality of documents, studies, visions and relevant writings. The purpose is to support the axis of mechanisms and requirements to face societal changes. The impact and repercussions of societal changes, both global and local; politically, economically, culturally, and socially on the institutions of higher education in Yemen, and the strength of the challenges imposed on those institutions, gave made it hard to keep pace with the requirements of the educational process and teaching. The study concluded with a number of recommendations that stressed in general the need for the establishment of the Yemeni state and the authorities concerned with higher education while focusing on the participation and assistance of the private sector and the support of universities, to ensure the modernization of its system to keep pace with the requirements of the times and the needs of society and the local and international labor market. It also sought to prepare graduate students armed with Knowledge and skills and able to deal with modern technology. The study ended with the development of a number of research proposals.
