المستخلص: تستمد تقنية المفارقة قيمتها الإبداعية من خلال تعاليها على الظاهر المباشر، وبحثها الدائم عن الغامض الذي يدفع القارئ للبحث عن المسكوت عنه، ويومئ إليه النص الحاضر، وهي تعبير عن أفكار المبدع وقناعاته الذاتية، عبر لغته الخاصة التي تمثل وسيطا مشتركا بينه وبين القارئ، كما أنها دليل على تمكن المبدع من أدواته، ومن قدرته على إظهار التناقضات المختلفة، والتفاوت في سلوك البشر. وتعد مفارقة أسماء الشخصيات واحدة من المفارقات التي يوظفها المبدع في كتابته السردية، ويقوم بناؤها على خلق عالم التناقضات بين دلالة اسم الشخصية، والمعاني التي وظفها المبدع في عمله الإبداعي، الأمر الذي يدعو القارئ إلى بذل جهد أكبر، وقدرة عالية على فك شفراتها المتراكبة. إن هذه الدراسة تحاول أن تنحو منحى نقديا تحليليا يقوم على جانبين، أولهما الإلمام بمصطلح المفارقة، وأنواعها، وعناصرها، ووظائفها، ومستوياتها، وعلاقتها بالأدب عموما وبعناصر السرد الروائي على وجه الخصوص، فيما يهتم الجانب الثاني بتوظيف تقنية مفارقة أسماء الشخصيات في النص الروائي العماني، وما يحققه من أهداف داخل البنية الأساسية للرواية، وتحقيقا لهذا المطلب فالدراسة تختار رواية "السفر آخر الليل"، للكاتب العماني يعقوب الخنبشي، أنموذجا تطبيقيا؛ لتوافر هذه التقنية بصورة واضحة في الرواية من ناحية، ومن ناحية أخرى لعدم تسليط الضوء -على حد علم الباحث- على دراسة هذه التقنية في هذه الرواية، أو الرواية العمانية عموما.

The paradox technique derives its creative value through its transcendence over the direct superficial value, and its continuous search for the mystery that pushes the reader to search for the unspeakable, which the present text points at. It is an expression of the creator's ideas and his own convictions, through his own language, which represents a common mediator between him and the reader. As a result, it will be an evidence of the creator's mastery of his tools, and his ability to show the various contradictions and disparities in human behavior. One of the paradoxes that the creative writer employs in her/his narrative writing is the paradox of the names of the characters, and its construction is based on creating a world of contradictions between the significance of the character's name in the text, and the meanings that the creative writer has employed in her/his creative work, which were shown by the character through her/his characteristics, sayings and actions, demanding the reader to make an effort to decode their overlapping codes. This study attempts to adopt a critical and analytical approach based on two aspects, the first of which is familiarity with the term paradox, its types, elements, functions, levels, and its relationship to literature in general, and to the elements of narrative in particular, while the second aspect is concerned with employing the technique of paradoxical names of characters in the Omani novel texts and the objectives it achieves within the basic structure of the novel. In order to achieve this requirement, the study chooses the novel "The Travel at the End of the Night", by the Omani writer Yaqoub Al-Khanbashi, as a model for application for the following reasons: the obvious availability of this technique in this novel on the one hand, and the fact that this technique has not been studied- as far as the researcher knows -neither in this novel, nor in the Omani novel in general.
