|b The theoretical discussion on innovation and its link with development, which has often focused on urban space, has resulted in several approaches to smart cities. They are open to criticism, such as the fact that the prerogatives are not reproducible, the overemphasis on the claim that urban growth is led by private industry in collaboration with governments and society, or the lack of inclusive and participatory practices in the experiences. The creative or intelligent territory method, on the other hand, allows for theoretical advancement through facilitating social interaction for decision-making as well as the valorization and territorial appropriation of information. Furthermore, theoretical approaches to territorial intelligence are provided as a novel method of comprehending territorial processes, both productive and social, in order to integrate players and their views, visions, and ambitions with a view to territorial development. We propose to reflect on these theoretical concerns through access to contemporary publications, with the goal of stimulating accesses toward the usefulness of a territorial intelligence.
