يعد التراث الشعبي أحد أهم مصادر الإبداع الفني وذلك عن طريق استلهام الفنان من عناصر التراث وإعادة صياغته إلى الجمهور بأسلوب فني جديد بما يواكب العصر الحديث فتكون مهمه الفنان هنا هو إعادة التذكير بعناصر التراث وكذلك الحفاظ عليها من الضياع وذلك لكون التراث الشعبي أحد أهم عناصر تشكيل الهوية وهو الذي يميز مجتمع عن غيره من المجتمعات الأخرى، ومن ثم فإنه تتحدد المشكلة في السؤال التالي كيف يمكن الاستفادة من نجارة السفن والمراكب بمصر كأهم الحرف الشعبية لاستحداث مشغولات خشبية في ضوء فنون ما بعد الحداثة؟ ومن خلال البحث والدراسة الميدانية التي قام بها البحث استنتج أن تعدد الحضارات التي مرت على مصر وعلى محافظة الإسكندرية خاصة نتج عنه تأثير واضح في نجارة السفن والمراكب وأن الاستلهام من الهيئات الشكلية التي خلفتها الحضارات السابقة يؤدي إلى إثراء القيم الجمالية في المشغولة الخشبية، حيث أن لكل عصر خصائص تميزه عن غيره من العصور وذلك يفيد في توظيفها في العديد من التخيلات التصميمة التي تصلح لتنفيذ مشغولات خشبية.

Through the research and the field study carried out by the research, it was concluded that the multiplicity of civilizations that passed through Egypt and the Governorate of Alexandria in particular resulted in a clear impact on the carpentry of ships and boats, and that the inspiration from the formal bodies left by previous civilizations leads to enriching the aesthetic values in the wooden artifacts, as each The era has characteristics that distinguish it from other eras, and that is useful in employing it in many design fantasies that are suitable for the implementation of wooden artifacts.
