المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على المشكلات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والنفسية والأسرية التي يعاني منها أسر مرضى السرطان، والكشف عن أدوار الأخصائي الاجتماعي في التخفيف من حدة هذه المشكلات، وتم استخدام منهج المسح الاجتماعي، وتمثل مجتمع الدراسة في أسر مرضى السرطان بمدينة حائل، والأخصائيين الاجتماعيين العاملين في مستشفى الملك سلمان بمدينة حائل، واشتملت عينة الدراسة على (40) فرداً من أسر مرضى السرطان تم اختيارهم بطريقة المعاينة العشوائية و (15) أخصائياً اجتماعياً تم اختيارهم بطريقة الحصر الشامل، وتم إعداد استبانتين لجمع البيانات، إحداهما موجهة إلى أسر مرضى السرطان والأخرى موجهة إلى الأخصائيين الاجتماعيين، وقد أظهرت النتائج تعدد المشكلات التي تواجه أسر مرضى السرطان، وجاء في مقدمة المشكلات الاجتماعية التي تواجه أسر المرضى: حاجة المريض إلى من يرافقه بشكل مستمر، ومعاناة الأسرة من التقصير في زيارة الأقارب والأصدقاء بسبب الانشغال مع المريض، والعجز عن مشاركة الآخرين في المناسبات الاجتماعية، وجاء في مقدمة المشكلات الاقتصادية التي تواجه أسر المرضى: التكلفة العالية للعلاج، وزيادة الأعباء المالية في الأسرة بعد إصابة أحد أفرادها بالسرطان، وتأثير نفقات العلاج على ميزانية الأسرة، وجاء في مقدمة المشكلات النفسية التي تواجه أسر المرضى: الشعور بالألم نتيجة نظرة العطف والشفقة من الآخرين تجاه المريض، والتشاؤم تجاه المستقبل، والشعور بالإحباط بسبب حالة المريض، وجاء في مقدمة المشكلات الأسرية التي تواجه أسر المرضى: افتقاد الأسرة الشعور بالإقبال على الحياة، وضعف قدرة الأسرة على الحياة بشكل طبيعي، والشعور بأن الأسرة مهددة بالتفكك. وبالنسبة لأهم أدوار الأخصائي الاجتماعي في التخفيف من حدة هذه المشكلات فكانت: تقديم النصائح المفيدة بشأن كيفية التعامل مع المريض، والعمل على رفع الروح المعنوية للأسرة وإقناعها بإمكانية تحسن حالة المريض، وتعريف الأسرة بمضاعفات المرض وكيفية الوقاية منها.

The current study aimed to: identify the social economic psychological and family problems that families of cancer patients suffer from and reveal the roles of social workers in alleviating the severity of these problems. The social survey approach was used and the study population represented families of cancer patients in the city of Hail and working social workers. At King Salman Hospital in the city of Hail the study sample included (40) members of the families of cancer patients who were selected by random sampling method and (15) social workers who were selected by the comprehensive enumeration method. Two questionnaires were prepared to collect datas one of which was directed to the families of cancer patients and the other was directed to To social workers the results showed the multiplicity of problems facing the families of cancer patients and at the forefront of the social problems facing the patients' families were: the patient's need for someone to accompany him constantly the family's suffering from failure to visit relatives and friends due to preoccupation with the patient and the inability to share with others. At social events at the forefront of the economic problems facing patients' families: the high cost of treatment the increase in financial burdens in the family after one of its members is afflicted with cancer. and the impact of treatment expenses on the family budget. At the forefront of the psychological problems facing patients' families: feeling pain as a result of a look. Sympathy and compassion from others towards the patient pessimism towards the future and feelings of frustration due to the patient's condition. At the forefront of the family problems facing patients' families are: the family's lack of a sense of enthusiasm for life the family's weak ability to live normally and the feeling that the family is threatened with disintegration. The most important roles of the social worker in alleviating the severity of these problems were: providing useful advice on how to deal with the patient working to raise the morale of the family and convincing them of the possibility of improving the patient's condition and informing the family of the complications of the disease and how to prevent them.
