يهدف هذا البحث إلي دراسة العلاقات الأمريكية الأوربية منذ بداية الألفية الجديدة، وأثر الحرب العراقية الأخيرة في هذه العلاقات. وقد تناولت الدراسة هذه العلاقات وسعت لتحليلها وتتبع تطورها منذ الحرب العالمية الثانية حتي انتهاء الحرب الباردة، وذلك اعتمادا علي فرضية دراسية تقوم علي حاجة الجانبين (الأوربي والأمريكي) بعضهم إلي بعض، بهدف ضمان وجودهما علي الساحة الدولية من ناحية، وضمان الهيمنة الأمريكية علي العالم من ناحية أخري. وقد أوضحت الدراسة أن هناك خلافات واضحة بين الجانبين تمثلت في عمقها في الحرب الأخيرة علي العراق؛ إذ اتضح لنا أن لكل منهما أهدافا ومسوغات مختلفة، وأن أوربا ما زالت في حالة من التبعية، مهما وصلت من الرقي والتطور العلمي، كما أنها في حاجة ماسة إلي القطب الأوحد المسيطر علي النسق الدولي الآن (الولايات المتحدة)، وأن حقيقة الخلافات بينهما تكمن في استخدام أنسب الأساليب، في حين أن الأهداف والغايات واحدة، وإن ظهرت بعض الدول الأوربية في مظهر المثالية في بعض المواقف.
This research aims to study the American - European relationships since the very beginning of the new millennium and the impact of the last Iraqi war on these relationships. This study has taken these relationships into account in terms of their analysis and development since (the Second World War) till the end of (the Cold War). This depends on a study hypothesis based on the need of both sides (the American and the European) for each other to guarantee their own existence in the international arena on the one hand and the American dominance on the world on the other. This in-depth study has illustrated that there are clear oppositions between the two sides deeply represented by the last war on Iraq. It has , then, become clear for us that each side has certain goals and justifications inharmonious with the other. Moreover , Europe has been still in a subordinate situation whatever the levels of scientific development it might reach and in a situation that sets it in great need for the literalized pole which dominates the international rhythm nowadays (the USA). These oppositions consist in the use of the most appropriate approaches. Nevertheless, the goals and are the same despite the fact that some European countries have sometimes come up with an idealistic appearance.
