|a تناولت هذه الدراسة جهود الدكتور سامي علي جبار في مجال نقد التحقيق، إذ سلطت الضوء على جملة من مقالاته في ميدان نقد التحقيق، فضلاً عما ورد من الإشارات النقدية في بحوثه ودراساته الأخرى، وكانت الغاية وراء تلك الملاحظ النقدية التي دونها هي تصويب الأخطاء، ومعالجة الهفوات، وسد النقص، ليخرج العمل المحقق بأفضل صورة ممكنة، خالياً من الخطأ في المعلومة والتصحيف والتحريف والنقص وما إلى ذلك. وهي مهمة ليست باليسيرة، فلا يتسنى ذلك إلا لمن روَّضَ نفسه على المطالعة والتثقف، والمتابعة الدقيقة والمستمرة لكل ما يُستجد من الأعمال التراثية المحققة، وهذا ما وجده الباحث في شخصية الدكتور سامي علي جبار، تلك الشخصية التي عُرف عنها الشغف بالتراث، والحرص على تقديمه للمتلقي بصورته التي تليق به.
