The research sheds light on a station in Andalusian history in which the trench represented an advanced defensive line in the last two centuries and an essential defensive force, to the point that the war between Muslims and Christians sometimes took place underground. This is the policy of trench warfare that both parties were forced to in the late era of the Banu al-Ahmar State. It also became clear through the research how the policy of trench warfare and restrictions by Christians in recent times played a role in the fall of the largest Andalusian bases in Andalusia. The research is presented in four sections, beginning with an introduction to the research and ending with a conclusion with the most important findings that I reached, appended with a list of sources and references, and the first section deals with The definition of the trench in language and terminology, and an explanation of the term trench warfare, followed by the second section, which explains the various motives for digging trenches in Andalusia and the beginning of the use of this defensive line. We move to the third section to address the engineering specifications and the nature of trench construction and its annexes in Andalusia, so that the research process ends with a detailed presentation of trench warfare among Muslims. And the Christians of the Bani-Ahmar era. |
