المستخلص: Les auteurs libanais francophones ont beau écrire sur l’amour, la luxure, la dystopie ou la vie moderne dans les grandes métropoles, mais leur ville-mère revient incessamment hanter leurs récits. Nous remarquons alors une sorte d’entêtement à vouloir narrativiser leurs anecdotes beyrouthines, un besoin de raconter leur capitale, de transformer leurs expériences dans ses ruelles en récits littéraires et de partager leur vécu avec le monde entier. Mais cette réalité est inévitablement ténébreuse qu’on peut dorénavant parler d’une couleur littéraire nationale : le noir. Cette noirceur est à son comble après l’explosion du port de Beyrouth, notamment dans la prose narrative de Hyam Yared, Implosions, d’Alexandre Najjar, Le syndrome de Beyrouth et de Charif Majdalani, Beyrouth 2020, journal d’un effondrement. Ces romanciers de l’extrême contemporain ayant écrit des romans qui célèbrent la culture et la joie de vivre des Libanais, publient des récits poignants sur ce qu’est devenue la vie des Libanais ces trois dernières années, mais surtout à partir du 4 aout, une date qui, semble-t-il, les a assignés à l’écriture. Nous nous penchons sur ces récits pour étudier comment les trois auteurs ont réussi à transformer leur drame personnel et celui de toute une communauté en récits littéraires expressifs. À l’aide d’une lecture croisée nous examinons la façon dont progresse l’expérimentation littéraire et dont les trois récits disent les craintes et la souffrance au quotidien et deviennent les chroniques d’une communauté qui se mue et qui s’effondre.

French-speaking Lebanese authors may write about love, lust, dystopia or modern life in big cities, but their mother city constantly comes back to haunt their stories. We then notice a sort of stubbornness in wanting to narrativize their Beirut anecdotes, a need to tell the story of their capital, to transform their experiences in its streets into literary stories and to share their experiences with the whole world. But this reality is inevitably so dark that we can now speak of a national literary color: black. This darkness is at its height after the explosion of the port of Beirut, notably in the narrative prose of Hyam Yared "Implosions", Alexandre Najjar "The Beirut Syndrome", and Charif Majdalani "Beirut 2020: Diary of the Collapse". These extreme contemporary novelists having written novels which celebrate the culture and joy of living of the Lebanese, publish poignant stories on what the lives of the Lebanese have become over the last three years, but especially from August 4, a date which, it seems, assigned them to writing. We examine these stories to explore how the three authors managed to transform their personal drama and that of an entire community into expressive literary stories. Using a cross-reading, we examine the way in which literary experimentation progresses and how the three stories express daily fears and suffering and become the chronicles of a community which is changing and collapsing.
