المستخلص: يشكل الفن دائما جزءا من العالم الاجتماعي والثقافي، ولفهم دور الفن هناك حاجة لتحليل السياق الاجتماعي والسياسي والسيكولوجي، ودون ذلك سيظل الفن وتحليله مغاليا في مثاليته وتجريده. إن كيفية تفكير الناس في أعمال فنية معينة، ونظرتهم إليها، يمكن أن يدلانا على كثير من الناس، وعن أفكارهم ومواقفهم واتجاهاتهم. وهذا يؤكد لنا أن "الفنون" وطريقة عرضها وتقديمها ليست- ولن تكون محايدة أبدا. يشير البحث إلى أن موضوع جوهري، وهو تصوير الهوية الوطنية الفلسطينية في الرسم؛ بهدف معرفة سيكولوجيا مفهوم الوطن، والهوية الوطنية ورموزها، وتمثلاتهما في الفن التشكيلي الفلسطيني المعاصر. تم اختيار أربع وعشرين لوحة من أعمال الفنانين) كامل المغني، ويوسف كتلو) لتحقيق هدف البحث. استخدم المنهج الوصفي، وأسلوب تحليل المحتوى (Content Analysis)، وتم حساب صدق التحليل وثباته. وتم تحليل اللوحات المعرفة مدى تماهي الأشكال بتمثلاتها المختلفة مع الرموز الدالة على الوطن، والهوية الوطنية الفلسطينية. أظهرت النتائج أن أهم الخصائص العامة للأعمال الفنية كانت كثرة عدد الأشكال المرسومة في الأعمال موضع التحليل، ووضوح الأشكال، وفيها درجة كبيرة من التحريف، يسودها السكون لا الحركة والمبالغة في الحجم للأشكال المرسومة، أما بالنسبة إلى تمثلات الهوية الوطنية فقد تمثلت الهويات الدالة عليها جميعها بدرجات متنوعة، منها الهوية الوطنية التعبيرية، والنفسية، والمقدسة، والمكانية، والاجتماعية، والسياسية. تم مناقشة النتائج والتوصل إلى بعض الاستنتاجات.

Art invariably exists within the social and cultural fabric, and comprehending its role necessitates an analysis of the social, political, and psychological context. Without such contextual understanding, art and its analysis risk becoming overly idealized and abstract. How individuals perceive and interpret specific works of art can provide valuable insights into their ideas, attitudes, and cultural trends. This underscores the non-neutrality of the 'arts' and their presentation. The research delves into a fundamental theme—the portrayal of Palestinian national identity in drawings—with the objective of understanding the psychology behind the concepts of homeland, national identity, and their symbols as represented in contemporary Palestinian plastic art. Twenty-four paintings from artists Kamil Al-Mughni and Youssef Katlo were selected to achieve this goal. Employing a descriptive approach and content analysis method, the research evaluates the extent to which the various representations in these paintings align with symbols associated with the homeland and Palestinian national identity. The validity and reliability of the analysis were also calculated to ensure robust findings. The results revealed key characteristics of the analyzed artworks, including a notable abundance of drawn shapes, clear delineation of shapes, a prevalent use of distortion, a tendency towards stillness over movement, and an inclination towards exaggeration in the size of depicted shapes. In terms of representations of national identity, the artworks demonstrated various degrees of expressive, psychological, sacred, spatial, social, and political elements contributing to national identity.
