The subject of the role of Ismaʿilite dogma in the decline of Islamic doctrines of jurisprudence is of great importance. From a historical and critical perspective, it is necessary to revise all the assumptions relating to this subject. On the one hand, the biographical and historical sources Malikites and achaʿrites concerning the history of Tunisia (Afriqiya) in the Middle Ages insist on the persecution practiced by the Fatimides against the Malikites and their thoughts. On the other side, there are Ismaʿilites and Shiʿites references whose Ismaiʿlites adherents are often presented as being tolerant with other doctrines in Tunisia, which has generated a certain understanding between the Malikites and the Ismaʿilite, but also with the authority Fatimide herself. |
