The Moroccan administrative organization until the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, before the imposition of the international protection system on it, was a spatial division according to the vastness and density of the population. Most of those supervising its organization were leaders appointed from notables and notables in this field. This situation continued to the extent of imposing the French protectorate on Morocco, which the protection administration will exploit to its advantage by imposing new administrative frameworks belonging to it to establish its colonial control. This is what we will try to focus on in this presentation by giving models related to the period of protection on a part of the Souss region. |
