المستخلص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى وصف ألفاظ العربية الإسلامية ودراسة بنيتها في اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية؛ وأسباب دخولها في الثروة اللفظية في اللغة الإنجليزية؛ متخذا ألفاظ العقيدة أنموذجا من خلال معجم أكسفورد لكشف القناع عن الفروق في البنية والدلالة بين الاستعمال العربي والإنجليزي لهذه الكلمات؛ ثم مقارنة هذه الأبنية بأصلها في العربية؛ لإفادة المجتمع المسلم بأثر الثقافة الإسلامية في الثقافة الإنجليزية ومن ثم في ثقافات العالم نظرا لشيوع اللغة الإنجليزية حول العالم. ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتألف البحث من ثلاثة مباحث مسبوقة بمقدمة وتمهيد، ومردفة بخاتمة. تناول التمهيد التعريف بالاقتراض اللغوي وأنواع ودواعيه، والتعريف بمعجم أكسفورد، وجاء في ثلاثة مطالب: درس المطلب الأول مفهوم الاقتراض اللغوي وأنواعه، وبين المطلب الثاني دواعي اقتراض الإنجليزية من العربية، وعرف المطلب الثالث بمعجم أكسفورد. أما المباحث الثلاثة، فتنال الأول منها بنية الألفاظ العربية، ودرس الثاني بنية الألفاظ الإنجليزية، وبين الثالث بنية المركبات الإضافية العربية والإنجليزية. وأما الخاتمة فتضمنت أهم النتائج والتوصيات والتي منها: أن اللغة العربية أسهمت بمئات الكلمات لإثراء اللغة الإنجليزية عبر العصور من عدة طرق، في شتى ميادين المعرفة. وأنه يوجد العديد من العوامل التي أثرت في مسألة الاقتراض، وهذه العوامل يمكن أن تكون دينية، أو ثقافية، أو علمية، أو اقتصادية، أو اجتماعية وسياسية. وفي تطور التبني والاستيعاب، طرأت بعض التغيرات في كيفية نطق الكلمات المقترضة، بنية ودلالة؛ بسبب القيود اللغوية والصوتية.

This study aims to describe the Arabic-Islamic terminology and to study its structure in both Arabic and English and the reasons for its entry into the verbal wealth of English language; taking the words of Islamic creed as a case study through the Oxford Dictionary of English to uncover the differences in structure and significance between the Arabic and English usage of these words; and then compare them with their origin in Arabic Language; to benefit the Muslim community the impact of Islamic culture in English culture and the world at large due to the prevalence of English Language around the world. To achieve these objectives, the study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach. The research is composed of three chapters preceded by a preface, and a preamble, accompanied by a conclusion and detailed indexes. The preface and preamble addressed the definition of linguistic borrowing, types and motives, definition of Oxford Dictionary of English in three topics: The first topic examined the concept of linguistic borrowing and its types, seconded by the reasons for borrowing English from Arabic, and the third defined the Oxford Dictionary. As for the three chapters, the first chapter elaborated the structure of Arabic words, the second studied the structure of English words, and the third explained the structure of additive linking in Arabic and English. The conclusion contained the most important results, including: that the Arabic language contributed hundreds of words to enrich the English language through the ages via several ways, in various fields of knowledge. And that there are many factors that have impacted the issue of loaning, and these factors can be religious, cultural, scientific, economic, social or political. However, in the development of adoption and assimilation, there have been some changes in the pronunciation, structural and semantic of words borrowed; due to language and phonetic constraints.
