المستخلص: This literature review seeks to provide a comprehensive examination of the role of mediation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, shedding light on occurrences, outcomes attained and mediators' approaches. This study contributes significantly to the understanding of conflict resolution in a region renowned for its complex conflicts. The methodology included a comprehensive review of relevant literature and case studies, ranging from mediation following the Arab Spring to mediation by minor states such as Qatar. A total of 1,352 publications were first considered, from which a selection of 14 research papers of high quality was chosen to serve as the foundation for the literature evaluation. The overall result highlights the crucial role of mediators in influencing the perceptions of conflicting parties, grasping negotiating opportunities, and managing the complex regional dynamics of MENA. This literature review also emphasises the significance of credibility, a detailed approach, and a balance between political issues and mediation approaches to achieving successful conflict resolution. Furthermore, it emphasises the changing nature of conflict dynamics and the growing participation of different stakeholders in regional peace-making.
