المستخلص: تتناول هذه الدراسة العلاقة بين الأمن البيئي والنزاعات الدولية، وذلك في ظل أهمية الأمن البيئي كأحد أهم أبعاد الأمن الإنساني في القرن الواحد والعشرين ومن منطلق إظهار التحديات الأمنية التي تطرحها الظاهرة النزاعية على الأمن البيئي، خاصة في ظل التطور التكنولوجي للأسلحة وكذا الاستخدامات المتكررة لأسلحة الدمار الشامل في مختلف النزاعات الدولية التي شهدها العالم مؤخرا. وتهدف هذا الدراسة إلى التأكيد على أن بحث الدول المستمر عن تأمين مصادر الطاقة والموارد والاستغلال المفرط لها سيؤدي لا محالة إلى تهديد البيئة ومن ثم تقويض الأمن البيئي، والأكثر من ذلك فإن هذا الاستغلال قد ينجر عنه دخول الدول في نزاعات دولية، خاصة عند ظهور مشكلات شح الموارد أو نقصها أو حتى التنازع بين الدول من اجل امتلاكها. ولعل من أهم النتائج التي تم التوصل إليها من خلال هذه الدراسة هي أن هناك علاقة مباشرة بين الأمن البيئي والنزاعات الدولية حيث أن العوامل البيئية تقف وراء نشوب النزاعات سواء كانت دولية أو عرقية وهو ما يؤثر سلبا على رفاهية المجتمعات ويؤدي إلى تراجع التنمية الاقتصادية.

This study deals with the relationship between environmental security and international conflicts, in light of the importance of environmental security as one of the most important dimensions of human security in the twenty-first century, and from the standpoint of showing the security challenges that the conflict phenomenon poses to the environmental security, especially the technological development of weapons. As well as the repeated uses of weapons of mass destruction in the various international conflicts that the world has recently witnessed. This research aims to confirm that the countries' constant search for securing energy and resources and their excessive exploitation will inevitably lead to a threat to the environment and thus undermine environmental security, Moreover, this exploitation may lead to the entry of states into international conflicts, especially when problems arise from scarcity or lack of resources, or even a conflict between states for their possession. Perhaps one of the most important results reached through this study is that there is a direct relation between environmental security and international conflicts, as environmental factors stand behind the outbreak of conflicts, whether international or ethnic, which negatively affects the well-being of societies and leads to a decline in economic development.
